  1. Is there fuel in the carbs? open the drain screw on the bottom and see if fuel comes out. You could also remove the air filter and spray some starter fluid, wd-40 etc in there and see if the engine fires, if it does you know its fuel if it doesnt then its probably not getting a spark. You said its getting a spark but it may be to weak to start the engine. I would first check the carb for fuel, then try starter fluid in the air box, then service the ht lead (remove the boot, cut 1/4 inch off the wire, strip it to get a good connection then replace the boot.) if its still not starting change the plug.
  2. yeah try bump starting it or try another battery. if you have a multimeter check what voltage the battery drops to while starting. Your regulator/rectifier could have died and taken the battery with it. Are you getting a spark?
  3. I'll be coming saturday morning on my cbr6 unless its peeing it down as you lot wont be going on the rideout.
  4. I have a few sets of feeler gauges i can bring, one is an angled set too which might be handy. My throttle bodies could do with being balanced as it hasn't been done since before my clearances were done. I just haven't been able to afford some gauges yet. Could also check my air filter while its accessible.
  5. I was planing for an early start and getting there about 8:30 but if you're not leaving till 12-1 i might set off a bit later. Or i might still set off early and miss the wknd traffic and have time for a chat and bacon sammich
  6. Hello, Can i just turn up for the saturday? If so what time are you planning to leave on the ride out?
  7. Hello, I need to fit a new connector on my stator, i have the connector and 3 new clips to crimp and solder onto the wires. What i need to know is, what type of solder is going to be best to use on this connection as its going to get quite hot and probably alot of vibration too. Do i use lead solder, lead free or silver? Do i just get the stuff with flux/rosin core or is it best to get seperate flux and add it before i solder? thanks for any help
  8. Afternoon, My bike (CBR 600 F Sport) is killing 1 reg/rec a month for the last 3 months. 1st was the original which was failing when it got hot 2nd was a 2nd hand one off ebay which failed after a few weeks and overcharged and killed my battery. Fitted new motobatt battery 3rd was a new electrex RR which was fine until yesterday and now only puts out 12v at the battery at 5k rpm and less then 11v if i put on lights. I've done all the tests everytime each one failed and eveything seems ok. Checked all connectors which were tight and clean Disconnected stator no resistance between pairs Continuity between pairs but no continuity between each wire and ground. Started bike Checked ac voltage at each pair which was 38v on all 3 at 5k rpm. Should the ac voltage from the stator be higher than 38v on each pair and would this cause the RR's to keep dying? Thanks for any help on this as its really doing my he
  9. I found both easy but i was still nervous as hell on the test days.
  10. Have fun guys, take some pcs etc if you can i'd like to see what im missing out on lol. Should be able to make the next one my bikes nearly fixed
  11. Unlucky mate, get it re-booked asap.
  12. I fitted an electrex reg/rec after mine failed on my cbr. It was a bit costly but does come with 12 months guarantee. It also hardly gets warm whereas my old one used to get to hot to touch. If you decide to get one from another bike like an R1 etc you will need to cut off the connectors and solder on the ones from your old reg/rec.
  13. I wont be able to make it unless i can get my bike back together by tomorrow night. Have fun

You can save £20 or so if you pick one up at a show or check out ebay.
  15. The life savers are just that, you do it to save you from going into another vehicle in your blind spot. Being to close to another vehicle isnt going to kill you in a 7.5 tonne lorry as easily as on a bike. Stick with it mate and good luck for next time.
  16. I spent ages trying to find some comfy gloves. I went with arlen ness in the end plus they were half price so that was a bonus. I found richa made some cheap gloves that were comfy too.
  17. Unfortunately me and the mrs wont be able to make this one. Hopefully next time Have a great day, look out for each other and be safe.
  18. Is it just me or does that bike sound terrible even after the new cctl was fitted? Sounds like mutley laughing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGVYreGfX40
  19. I should be able to come along GF permitting, she may even want to come too. Anyone coming from south leicestershire way? What time are you all getting to rutland water? 11?
  20. Great another nutter on the road Congrats dude
  21. I got a few things but was overall disappointed at the turnout. Wasn't much there tbh. Seems to be getting worse every year and the tail end last year was pathetic.
  22. I've reused them, as long as its in good condition.
  23. Congrats dude. Good luck with the mod 1
