  1. Could be water around the plug caps, coils or wiring. Water in the carbs or switchgear. Dry it off and spray wd40 everywhere. Drain floatbowls. Check air filter not wet.
  2. Romney marsh, Sunday March 13th. Great roads, no cops or cameras. 5 cafes and bike meet in Rye???

  4. My mate on another forum had a crappy Nexxus silencer with a mild steel link pipe; http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s86/gizzard1533/bike%20stuff/P220111_1240.jpg It had cracks at both ends, covered with zorst repair gunge and sounded crap. I said I had a carbon Micron stubby that woul fit and set about making a stainless link pipe for his 4 into 2 into 1; Had to pay to have a one off 30degree bend in the 57mm o/d 304 stainless pipe; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/IMAG0111.jpg Was gonna make a collector box , but decided to squash the 57mm to 38mm o/d for the 2 into 1; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/IMAG0138.jpg Cut the 38mm pipes to length and cut through 90% to fold em to 20degree angle . http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/IMAG0125.jpg The 57mm wasn't wide enough for two 38mm pipes at an angle , so I had to add a bit; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/IMAG0141.jpg and blend it into the squashed link pipe; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/IMAG0144.jpg Had the extra bit tacked on and set link pipe and stubby for fitting to his bike before final welding and polishing; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/IMAG0146.jpg Here it is on the bike; http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s86/gizzard1533/bike%20stuff/P280211_1559-1.jpg

  6. Can't you buy some draggin jeans that fit you and have some padding sewn into pockets inside em. I wear Richa textiles that have knee and thigh pads in. I'm sure you can buy padding from Knox and sew em in yer own trousers

  15. anytime mate, did the gasket survive? Make a new one outta cornflake box?
  16. The fuel tap has a tube that goes about 3" into the tank for main tank supply. The reserve bit is below the tube and will eventually empty the tank. Set your trip meter at zero when you fill the tank right up and look what the mileage is when it starts to cough and you need to put it on reserve. The reserve tank will probably get you another 20 to 50 miles till the tank is totally empty, but you don't want to confirm this as it will probably happen at the worst place and time and the crap in the bottom of the tank will end up blocking the carb jets. Only ever run onto reserve when you know you are near a fual station. Note the main tank range and try not to go on reserve.ONLY EVER RUN THE TANK ON MAIN, ONLY USE RESERVE TO GET YOU TO THE PETROL STATION.!!!
  17. Try working a craft knife or thin blade between the cover and casing. Move it all the way around. Try to avoid ripping the gasket.

    CBF...Small Issues

Not being able to engage neutral is usually down to clutch dragging. Check the free play on your clutch cable and the lever near the clutch cover. The clutch may need stripping and cleaning. Jumping out of gear could be more serious. On a higher mileage bike it could be worn dogs on the gear pinions or a worn selector fork or drum. If it's only done 2000 miles I'd take it back to the dealer or make a warranty claim. Deffo check the clutch cable first though and see if anything is stopping the gear shift returning after engaging secod gear
  21. If you don't know the history, it's always worth checking. Too big a clearance will affect cam timing and performance, too little could burn the exhaust valves.

    Which engine oil??

Most bikes use a 10W40 mate , but they have different additives in. Find out which is recommended for your bike. Cars don't use wet clutches like bikes , so they use different additives. If you should use semi and you put fully synth in it, the clutch may slip. I use Halfords semi synth.

    Which engine oil??

Any semi, don,t put fully synth in it. Flush out all the old oil first in case it,s mineral.
  24. Yeah , wasn't impressed with the guys at Brands, but I can't afford to pay for a race school day.
