  1. I videoed to and from work yesterday. I am pretty pleased with the results, especially the return journey in the dark. The sound has a crackle to it, but you can still hear the engine. The one issue is that even though the image is stable, I don't think the quality is good enough to capture car reg numbers unless they are right in front of you. Can anyone suggest some simple editing software? Is there a way of deleting what is on the memory card without having to download it onto the computer first?
  2. I have got the same one as crowther. It is mounted to the rubber bottom of the o/s wingmirror. A quick test finds it works fine and downloading to the videos is easy. Next is to use it on a run and see how it copes with that. I am not sure about waterproofness as the plastic lens cover moves and looks like it would let water in.
  3. Thanks Deso, but I am tiny big bit bigger
  4. I voted non 1 because we recently paid off our mortgage and what a difference that has made. We can now afford similar things to the rest of your list and I am rapidly saving for my next bike and we are off abroad to see relatives next month.
  5. I see, of course there is ample space to slide. Ah well, back to the drawing board.
  6. I read Ride a lot, but have not seen any such tests. I assumed with CE armour all suits are much of a muchness and the price variation is in waterproofing, windproofing, longetivity, image etc, not safety.
  7. Thanks for the replies. I am surprised, there are surely qualities to leathers and so a good textile suit will beat a bad leather one when it comes to a crash.
  8. It was so good I am going back down in August sometime.
  9. My mate lives near Knockhill, so I have been thinking about going for a track day. I know I have a KLE500, but thats not the point, I want a go and do not mind being the one overtaken all the time. But reading the terms and conditions it states regarding clothing "...along with a full piece leather suit or 2 piece leather suit that zips the full way around your waist and back." Is that standard? To do a track day is armoured textiles not considered good enough?
  10. If you do send us a PM and I'll try and join you.
  11. Well done Rushwind. My next attempt to do the final up north tags is at the end of July.
  12. But I want to do it, thats the whole point, I am learning something new and enjoying myself
  13. I thought what would come with the kit is a split link http://www.cjaccessories.co.uk/images/P/sp.web.jpg which you just push together. No riveting needed.
  14. Au contraire motorcycle chains are not rubbish. As for my "...are rubbish threads" that is just the eyecatching title to what I really mean by "can be improved"
  15. So I need a chain splitter and a Haynes manual. Simples, surely You guys don't appear to have much confidence in my ability to do this job myself
  16. My next job is to replace my chain and sprokets. So to do that 1 - I cannot find the split link, so how do I best get the chain off? 2 - Do I need to have a specific torque when re-tightening the bolts holding the sprokets? 3 - Anything else you think I should know? I have seen some good You Tube videos on generally changing the chain, but the above I am not so sure about. This is what I will replace it with http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-KLE5 ... 20bf836b5a
  17. "> Qualities not too bad, but will do for insurance purposes. Sound is ridiculous, bike sounds like a jet. edit - battery should last 3 hours, haven't tested this. Good enough for me. I want it for safety not making videos of my latest trip.
  18. Daft questions, do I need to by a memory card or does it come with one? When the card is full is it easy to delete what is there and start again? I can delete my cameras memory card in seconds without having to plug it into anything.
  19. Tuesday I am going to go down to the Galloway Forrest to do the two forest drives, if anyone else is about and fancies a run with a difference. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/recr ... restDrives
  20. Have a lovely time with your sun shine and please take lots of photos
  21. That is superb Ed, though I did think you were living up to your nickname till I saw it was at 2x speed! I am going to take a hit for the forum and get and review the waterproof one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220768087550? ... 1438.l2649
  22. Glad to see you did not miss out what many do by skipping over the lowlands and heading for the Highlands.
  23. I would have though buying a 125cc is more expensive that doing the DAS I went the most expensive way and did both, but it meant I was on the road quicker with my 125cc on L Plates as I then did the DAS as well.
  24. Exactly that. I can't see it being a problem. Maybe head down to a garage that does MOT's and just say is this legal? Or head to your local cop shop and ask. I know cops can be total dicks sometimes but they do usually help you out if your polite about it. I would suggest the MOT garage over the police, it is a pretty technical question that is about positioning of the lights etc.
