  3. I used HPI's own site hpi.co.uk Reg, money, job's a good'un When I did mine it asked for a few extra details after sending me the initial report: number on the V5, frame number, mileage etc as well, encourages you to go and look at those and make sure they're matched as well. Or get the seller to look.

Yes, we've got a set of love handles. Much prefer them to grabbing the handles behind them. I prefer them as it means I can see her hands and know she's still there Maia definitely preferred them at first. More natural position on the bike, can feel where the rider's moving etc. Did the rideout at the rally without them and she said she was death gripping the handles through the twisties which made her knackered and felt like she was leaning back far more so feeling less planted on the bike. She's getting used to the grab handles now and can swap back and forth at will but I'll still always wear them.

Absolutely all of it. Don't need to spend a lot at all but it does make me cringe seeing power ranger dad in AlpineStars one piece, Arai lid etc on the front with kid in t shirt and flip flops on the back! Helmet new but you can pick up things like Box helmets for £60 ish All the rest you can get off eBay or similar (or off here. What size is your daughter? I think we've still got some tiny size gear around saleable) And are you sure it'll only happen 2 or 3 times? Maia was dead keen to come on the back of the bike with me. First time I took her round the block was given strict instruction "don't go too fast, just round the block, she'll probably be satisfied she's done it and that'll be the end of it" I hadn't even got off the bike myself after the round the block before she was nagging mum to go get her gear on so we could go out. Blatted up the dual carriageway to CMC to be asked why speed limits have to exist
  7. Don't worry Joe, I've brought that back on track by bringing countersteering into the braking argument
  8. Bombtrack - Rage Against the Machine
  9. I don't think even the hardiest of us would ride in this ">
  10. When I was reading round a lot of the reviews rated the R&G ones easier to fit than the Oxford ones, far fewer wires snaking back and forth along the bike. The controls of the R&G ones look a lot easier to use on the move than the Oxford ones, it's just one big red button One location, one friendly forum member and an endless supply of cups of tea
  11. ESP do a decent one like that I believe. Also silly money but they do damn good stuff
  12. What would your third bike be and what for? What would it offer you that your current don't? And it would cost more than just the purchase price: insurance, tax etc. But don't do either purely for the investment. Which would you use more? Which would you get more enjoyment out of? Or which would you get more enjoyment per pound out of? And why the hell wouldn't you want a Parker Nitefly? (my dream guitar)
  13. Dude (Looks like a lady) - Aerosmith
  14. Congratulations, hope all doing well Got a name?
  15. No, you have to tax it before you can ride it but there is a section on the gov.uk site to buy the tax and a link if you're the new keeper, put the reference number off the V5 in and you're sorted. "I've just bought it, officer" is no longer an excuse. Did that getting the Z this weekend, dealer let us use his computer to go through it and tax it before we left the showroom. Insurance you can phone them up and sort it out over the phone. Has always been thus
  16. Yes, don't drag the clutch on the car nearly the same way you do on the bike, that's the quick way to a new clutch and a big bill. I did almost an entire lesson when learning to drive (which I did first, for info) on a hill holding it on the clutch and rolling it back and forth inches at a time to get a feel for it. Rather proud of myself next time I was out in the car with my dad I did the same thing to show him... and nearly gave him a nervous break down First bike lesson after I did my CBT I went for an assessment ride. First thing my instructor said to me when we got back was "How long you been driving?" saying I used the clutch too much like a car, when I started letting it out I carried on letting it out, I didn't drag it at all.
  17. And click through every link and terms and conditions that's on there, I've seen a few where they hide the ticky boxes at the end of the terms and conditions for "leave me alone" My personal favourite being one where the terms and conditions appeared in a pop up window with the ticky boxes at the bottom and then you just close the window and there's no record whether you ticked the boxes or not
