  5. I used HPI's own site hpi.co.uk Reg, money, job's a good'un When I did mine it asked for a few extra details after sending me the initial report: number on the V5, frame number, mileage etc as well, encourages you to go and look at those and make sure they're matched as well. Or get the seller to look.

Yes, we've got a set of love handles. Much prefer them to grabbing the handles behind them. I prefer them as it means I can see her hands and know she's still there Maia definitely preferred them at first. More natural position on the bike, can feel where the rider's moving etc. Did the rideout at the rally without them and she said she was death gripping the handles through the twisties which made her knackered and felt like she was leaning back far more so feeling less planted on the bike. She's getting used to the grab handles now and can swap back and forth at will but I'll still always wear them.

Absolutely all of it. Don't need to spend a lot at all but it does make me cringe seeing power ranger dad in AlpineStars one piece, Arai lid etc on the front with kid in t shirt and flip flops on the back! Helmet new but you can pick up things like Box helmets for £60 ish All the rest you can get off eBay or similar (or off here. What size is your daughter? I think we've still got some tiny size gear around saleable) And are you sure it'll only happen 2 or 3 times? Maia was dead keen to come on the back of the bike with me. First time I took her round the block was given strict instruction "don't go too fast, just round the block, she'll probably be satisfied she's done it and that'll be the end of it" I hadn't even got off the bike myself after the round the block before she was nagging mum to go get her gear on so we could go out. Blatted up the dual carriageway to CMC to be asked why speed limits have to exist
  9. Don't worry Joe, I've brought that back on track by bringing countersteering into the braking argument

  13. I don't think even the hardiest of us would ride in this ">
  14. When I was reading round a lot of the reviews rated the R&G ones easier to fit than the Oxford ones, far fewer wires snaking back and forth along the bike. The controls of the R&G ones look a lot easier to use on the move than the Oxford ones, it's just one big red button One location, one friendly forum member and an endless supply of cups of tea

  18. Yes you need a theory, the tests are slightly different as there are a couple of bike specific questions to answer. With a CBT already done, what you do next then depends on how old you are. Basically they're all the same tests but varies what size bike you do it on and what size bike you're allowed to ride afterwards. It's possible to do it without any instruction, some on here have, but there will be insurance implications of getting to the tests on bigger bikes and instruction will explain what's required. viewtopic.php?f=47&t=52550
  19. Me and Mary Jane - Black Stone Cherry
  20. Talk yourself through it, out loud in your helmet Give yourself a running commentary: what you see in front of you, what corner is coming up, what speed you're doing, where you want to be looking, even if you have to say to yourself all the way though the corner "look up, look up, look up" Don't tell yourself "don't look at that bush", tell yourself to look up, round, further. Makes all the difference
  21. May's a while off Personally I'd say get a decent second hand Jap 125 now, ride it until May and you'll have much more experience when you do come to do your test and when you pass you sell on your 125 for the same money you bought it for Assuming from the question you've done CBT
  22. I'd love to see someone come off and slide down the road in Teflon jeans Gripping the tank would be an adventure as well
  23. I'd consider £300 pushing the boat out for a pair of trousers!!! I don't know what style you're after etc, bit more information would be cool, but I can confidently say don't bother with those!
  24. It's just a ride with a SatNav telling you where to go in your ears. Ride for you, don't worry about the examiner, just ride your normal ride. Don't worry, don't tense, don't try to do anything you don't anyway. Good luck
