Getting drunk in a tent in a field just outside Hull

Well done for not hitting her and well done for saving it. But most huge well dones for recognising this feeling! The way to save the bike from here? LET GO OF THE BRAKE Bikes have a wonderful ability to sort themselves out without the pillocks on top getting in the way

The U turn worries a lot of people, you get in your head and worry about it. As you've said yourself you could do it, there's just now that mental block. Have you got a bike you can practice on? Go up the local Tesco car park when it's closed on a weekend and just ride around. Start off riding in circles, large as you like. Round and round and slowly and steadily the circle will become smaller and smaller. It's all about reminding yourself you can do it. When you've got that practice in suddenly the U turn they want you to do on the test becomes huge My IAM observer is threatening to do the same to me, it doesn't go away

Congrats I got exactly the same comments from passing in Farnborough You went with Pinewood didn't you? I had Russ for lessons and then Phil took me down for my tests. Got there for mod 1 and he said "the ride was fine, everything was there, perfectly safe, just f**king BORING!!!!!!!!!" Coming back up that hill from Camberley past Broadmoor he "encouraged" me to get up to speed by just vanishing up it and getting me to chase him. -
Doesn't look too bad, definitely worthy of closer investigation. Interesting that the scratches are on the right of the tank but he's replaced the left foot rest? They're not obviously tank bag scratches, possibly a semi-trained gorilla has been used to fill it up? The rear left shock looks in far better nick than the rear right one to me from those pics All little bits like that where they are obviously different on opposite sides could suggest replacement down one side Chain doesn't look too bad but the adjuster bolts look rusty in the picture you can see them so would check chain tension and condition. Might have been cleaned but left to drag on the floor. West London I'd say ask Fozz to come have a look with you but definitely say worth a closer look

And the new one of those is the T30 Bridgstone have actually been sensible about changing their naming system, they have now have the T30 for touring, the S20 for sporty riding and the R10 for racing T30's and Pilot Roads (hadn't decided between 3 or 4) were my shortlist for what to get on the Viff... and then I got Pirelli's

That was kinda what I was getting at with "you have a bag with you" but I won't tell if you don't -

Give the bottom of the bag a damn good brush down before sticking it on there That non slip rubber matting stuff works well: http://www.autocaresupermarket.com/pimages/medium_CRT171g200.jpg and as for "something else to carry around"... dare I suggest you have a handy bag with you? Failing that, stick it under the seat and don't forget and leave it there -

That's exactly the one we've got but there's only one in that pack, not a pair -
BT Interphone Use Abroad...?
OhJay replied to stferr86's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I got on alright but my speakers have ended up just in front of my ears rather than flush over them. I've got a decent recess in my lid there that they're sat in, more or less on the front corner of the bit the straps attach to. Cat had quite a bit more fiddling to get them in the right place than I did, I think they're at least half under the lining in hers to get them in the right place. -

Yes you can, you don't need to pair them to anything apart from each other if you don't want to. They talk directly to each other rather than it being a phone call. I have mine connected to my phone as my phone's the SatNav but when the SatNav instructions come through it actively cuts off the bike to bike channel to let the phone back in. Will the 1000's pair to the 800's then Chris? That would be interesting to find out. -
The silver Polo immediately in front of me in the queue on the Hog's Back yesterday morning. Thick thick fog, I couldn't see 5 cars ahead in the queue... and she didn't have any lights on whatsoever

Honestly couldn't tell you. I'll do some investigating this weekend when I get home and can have a play if no one answers before I can. As in have three of them talking to each other? Yes. This listing of the same thing has pretty much the full instruction booklet in the description: Beyond three I have no idea. If you get a couple we'll find out Or do you mean to each other and an external device? Also yes, mine is paired my phone and Cat's headset. If I have my phone being the SatNav and we have intercom channel open it will cut the call to read out the satnav instruction and then reconnect automatically (although all Cat heard was it beeping over and over when it stopped the call and restarted it )

seeking advice on bike sat nav
OhJay replied to a topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I use Navigon app on my iPhone which apparently tyre can talk to but you need the €15/year subscription to tyre. Definitely on the list to get before the season starts, I'll let you know how it goes. Anyone whose got me on Facebook will know the arguments I've been having with them so far -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-800m-BT-I ... 5afc7255a6 They come in 500m, 800m and 1000m variants We got the 800, don't think we've ever been more than half a mile apart when riding together.

Is that a euphemism for something? Glad it's up and running. Was it the mag that was knackered?

I can see how you could easily confuse the two

My VFR is certainly more responsive higher up the revs. It pulls from 3k but is happy higher. It's actually easier to ride hard than potter gently, I just need to convince myself of that most of the time Advice I was given from the bikesafe I've done was to go into a corner at about 6k, half way to redline, that way you've got the engine braking to roll off and slow if you need to (engine braking at the bottom of the revs is nil and using the brakes on the lean is even more a no-no) and the responsiveness to drive through the corner positively. DISCLAIMER: I do none of these things I notice if I drop a gear because the engine sounds a lot quicker I roll off until it's back at about 3k and then tip into the corner meaning I'm doing it about 10mph slower because I'm at the same revs and a lower gear. It takes some recalibration of brain and ear to do. I noticed it at Castle Combe, one of the chicanes I only dropped one gear instead of two so went round it at 3 or 4k revs and it felt really bogged down compared to when I was going through it at 6k

I second Chris' suggestion, those cases look superb and was on the list for my last phone but I think water might have killed it so I've now got a lifeproof case for my iPhone. Case is brilliant, waterproof, good protection but the bike mount they offer is just a clip which would make me very nervous: http://store.imore.com/images/product_images/accessories/large/11486.jpg It only has to rattle free at motorway speeds once......... Charging on it you need the original charger, the hole for the charger plug is quite... "fitted" and any third party chargers with bigger plugs just don't fit. But I use mine as my satnav. Currently it lives in my pocket but charge is an issue so getting a tankbag with map pocket and going to run a cigarette socket up from the battery

hahahahaha, I like your style. Can I be videoing it when we do this?
