  1. Ricky, definitely mate, will give you a shout when ive got some free time.
  2. sorry mate, manic day yesterday, not got a problem with slow at all , but unfortunately we lost a manager at work yesterday and ive had to cancel the bloody day off .
  3. and id have to disagree on your warning to ladies not to rally alone.... I have found bike rallies to be the one place where you can be reasonably safe, guaranteed to make friends, and most likely looked out for by surrounding bikers. usual rules of caution apply, but theres no more reason for a woman to avoid rallying alone than a man
  4. i pity the ones that get caught not the most sensible place to be looting, a field full of hairy scary pissed up bikers....miles from anywhere, in the dead of night...... no one to hear the screams
  5. seem to have a spare day off booked, and I have tyres that need scrubbing in... thinking maybe north wales??? but open to suggestions
  6. holy c***!! cant be any help, but if theres anything else on the bike looking like that, free or not, I'd be melting it down, not trying to ride it
  7. alex, my laptops shit, so cba with emailing stuff, but theres tons of rally/trackday/racing pics on my fb, feel free to help yourself mate, if theres any you particularly want sending give me a shout and ill try
  8. you're not kidding about Friday night, I have pictures of the tent masquerading as an igloo lol
  9. ricky, do a google search for ACU training/qualifying days, they seem to average about 125 quid, which is similar to a lot of trackdays anyway, and then entitles you to ride at track events. personally id love to chuck a 125 around cadwell....of the 2 straights there, only one of them is even remotely straight anyway, and the other has a blind crest, so they really don't go that fast up there on trackdays. if youre worried about the tricked up track bikes, book yourself on a reclaim our tracks event...its supposed to be road standard bikes only, and supposed to be ride there ride home ( ie no vans/trailers) I say supposed to be , as the one we went on , we were the only ones in the paddock the night before who didn't bring a van/trailer lol
  10. actually an A2 license seems to be deemed a full one, we recently went to brands and a young lad in our group was accepted with an A2 on a restricted sv650.the A2 is a full category license, not a restricted one as per the old rules.
  11. you already been on track with it then ???? how did you get around the lack of gold sticker ??
  12. That would be one crazy little bike!! should be a match made in heaven then... as im one crazy little female
  13. Why?......changing the engine could really upset the dynamics of the bike.....I'd keep it as it is.....but that's just MHO...... I just mean that it suits you......and I mean that in a nice way...... granted, shes fab as is...just makes your ears bleed a little at 90 ( ooops I meant 70 ish , of course)
  14. I will ignore any possible age/vintage comparisons
  15. do you mean it looks like I might actually own this , as opposed to having nicked it off my dad
  16. absolutely agree mate...much more me ( will save up for the full blade engine conversion in a few years , mwahahahaaaaaaa)
  17. pretty sure I posted this earlier , but its disappeared, so here goes again. first bike ive managed to touch the floor both sides on...very chuckable....loving her lots my cbr400rr ( even more fun as I have the dani pedrosa style weight advantage , hehehe )
  18. good luck, just relax and enjoy...let us know how it goes
  19. difficult to say without having been there, but a. was there someone in the drivers seat of the car you passed b. was the engine running c. did you gain anything in real terms by overtaking it ( or were you still going to be sat behind the 2nd car anyway, thus taking some risk for no real gain ) for test purposes I would always say if theres nothing to be gained , don't bother. my daughter failed hers first time for entering a roundabout with a big enough gap,( probably , just ) and the car coming round panic braking even though she wasn't near enough to hit. if in doubt... don't....at least for test purposes. to be honest theres dubious advantage to filtering anyway if the road ahead is clearly blocked
  20. breaker bar is an absolute essential in my toolkit, cant undo bugger all without it
  21. id second the vote for the R6, as I had / have one , and loved it ... but not got experience of the others to compare
  22. no worries, offer still stands if you want me to talk you through it... putting your hand over it will tell you bugger all....you can test each part of the charging system in turn, but it makes more sense in real time, with the bits in front of you, ( and you need to sort it before you end up broken down in between 2 lanes of fast moving traffic, which is how I learned the hard way
  23. if you have an hour Saturday morning when your in front of the bike with a multimeter in your hand I could possibly help if you ring me .... pm me if you want my number
  24. not much of a garage if they cant narrow it down and tell you which ones faulty. do you have a multimeter( or one you can borrow) ? and where in west Yorkshire are you? reg rec is a relatively easy and cheap fix.... alternator ( generator) is a bigger job and more costly. reg rec failure is quite common, so id eliminate that first
  25. unfortunately our scheduled chat got postponed as his 80 year old mum just had a trip to whipps cross due to a nasty virus . will be sure to ask him next time we catch up
