  1. im sure someone will come along and disagree, but I find ( as a very teeny tiny person) that dianese are the perfect fit for me, and hence maybe not cut for bigger/chunkier/beer bellied peeps. having said that, I find the forearms in the rst way too tight ( yeah yeah im a funny shape) my advice would be , find a shop with lots of choice/brands, and go try everything on till you find out what suits.
  2. I am well practised in the art of seat covering...by virtue of the fact I have to shave every seat on every bike I ever buy.i have the staple gun...happy to help if you can get the seat up to me
  3. we did have awesome costumes picked out... but seeing as its now further away and we have to fit them on the bikes, might have to rethink
  4. is she slightly short by any chance? standard bike boots wont work, it may pain you to think of the cost, but sidis will almost certainly work .
  5. depends on budget I guess, im sure the scala sets are superb, but they were never going to be in our budget, so we bought the 65 quid ebay special bt intercom system, ....not really expecting it to be up to much. how wrong can you be !!!! superb so far, for both music, phone, rider to rider, and sat nav even the battery life seems excellent....we had them on constantly from London to Nottingham on our last outing, and they weren't even starting to complain.
  6. provided you have bike provisional entitlement ( which you should have ) , all you need is to complete a cbt and get the certificate, theres no need to have anything added to your licence. That then entitles you to ride up to a 125 with l plates( not on the motorway and without a pillion)
  7. when you find it, you will know, and you will either love it or hate it.
  8. I would however play devils advocate on the 'let that bitch pull me along ' thing. yes , opening the throttle can be an awesome feeling ( understating that slightly...theres a reason why I ride supersports) , but the real thrill is in being in complete control of that powersurge....not so much 'pull me along' , as 'do your best bitch, im the one calling the shots' :D
  9. your choice...yes its illegal...yes you may well get fined( factor in if the advantage gained is worth the potential cost of the fines) and can you actually afford to pay them. if the answer is yes or maybe then you have to make your own decision....but don't be fooled that no one bothers...I have been out on bank holidays with riders who have been spot fined for plates on the way to meet up...it does happen, and if you take the risk of doing something you already know is blatantly illegal, then you should accept that it might cost you if you get caught
  10. do they both ride the same bike as you? if not then they cant say how to ride yours, or what will work for you. the amount of throttle/revs needed to give appropriate drive/stability will vary immensely from bike to bike. perfect example of this...my OH can pootle around at 3k on his vfr, while if I tried that on either the R6 or cbr , it would object bigtime... and I'm more likely to be doing around 8k( 10 if I want it to get a bit lively). if you are getting around corners, staying upright, and returning home with a smile on your face , then you're doing enough right. having said that I totally agree with challenging yourself to improve, so why not sign up for a bikesafe course, and get some feedback ( or even performance plus or iams)
  11. I'd vote for doing it properly now, save a load of hassle in the long run
  12. hahahahaha, I like your style. Can I be videoing it when we do this? ermmm....whadya mean we? , im guessing if your videoing , theres only one person getting wet here lol
  13. tango , my whats one of those was in reference to the 'hot day' :P
  14. would rather drain it and flush it, as some very helpful mates chucked a bottle of rad weld in, ( which did do the job) rather clean the lot and start again
  15. Hi Cat there should be a 8mm drain - vent bolt on the water pump on the lower left of the engine. Open this to drain the system and when refilling open this bolt again to vent the air out of the water pump, if you don't vent the pump you will end up with an air lock in the pump resulting in no circulation and the motor over heating. I found a video clip here it's not your bike but l think the pump is almost identical "> ah ok, so vent screw/drain bolt = same thing...phew, thought id completely missed something there lol
  16. This year I'm going to work on getting my helmet down. I thought we tried to avoid that? yes, definitely avoid that... I got knee, elbow, shoulder and helmet down once....not fun, not pretty, ripped the entire seam out of a perfectly good pair of leather trousers and needed 2 innocent bystanders to lift the bike off me......sooooo not cool when said bike is a 125 marauder lol
  17. vent screw?? havnt seen mention of that ...only the drain bolt thingy ( got a new crush washer as it says to remove it completely and drain the system before swapping the rad) although not sure if that's necessary now listening to you lot
  18. It'll shift the CofG, and allow cool air to access your groin which is not always a good thing. Bit of cool air round the Betty's can be nice on a hot day....... whats one of them then
  19. the new rad has a fan, just need to sort the wiring out. why would I get water everywhere if I drain the system first ??
  20. ok, have the replacement rad for my cbr now...just looking for a basic walk through from those in the know, incase theres anything ive missed. think I know the theory, and ive bought a new crush washer for the drain bolt....plan on leaving the hoses attached to the engine, just undo them from the actual rad and swap them over. will I need anything else I havnt thought of , and apart from the obvious ( ie drain the system before I start ) , roughly whats the step by step ?
  21. either way, you still cant carry a pillion on l plates, so rather a moot point

  23. this could be a fun thread knee down is not necessarily about the actual action of sticking your knee out...that alone will have very little effect...its the fact of shifting your weight off the side of the bike , which in turn enables the bike to remain more upright and have a larger contact patch on the tyre , which some say makes for faster safer cornering.( or rather safer fast cornering)...thought tbh in most public road conditions its hardly likely to be necessary. however, moving around the bike can make you commit better to the corner , and therefore improve your cornering, whether it makes it faster or not...there is a psychological effect, having said that I have also seen people hanging off like an ape get passed on the outside of a corner by guys sitting bolt upright , so I shall now sit back and enjoy my popcorn
  24. just relax , pay attention and enjoy...brilliant bunch of guys at roadcraft, that's where I did mine .
