  1. oh god , someone mentioned counter steering all the above advice is great... you are doing right, keep the speed down and lean angle lessened in the wet and dark whilst you learn your limits.... and 100% back the positioning statement...if you can see what youre dealing with , its a helluva lot easier to deal with it
  2. definitely get some lessons....even just an hour a week...cbt doesn't teach you nearly enough if you're a new road user
  3. Hey, cats back never went away...just being quiet for a while ( yeah unusual for me I know )...nice to know you missed me
  4. good to see those who did get there, the worst we had was a couple of bouts of hail and some rain, but it was bloody freezing, so much so I had to 'borrow' a jumper for on the way home...all in all nice to get out on the bikes though, and see a few familiar faces... look forward to the rally to see a few more
  5. my advice would be ... gimme a job.. ill do anything lol
  6. we've had a pair of these for 2 years and theyre still going strong
  7. anyone else joining us for beer and pizza back at ours?? I know babycat ( maia) would really appreciate it
  8. resurrecting old threads .... oh no wait, that wasn't me. ok I enjoy sarcasm....anything to do with cats or dogs sculpting real life replica babies from polymer clay( that's not even slightly weird , trust me ) mostly my hobbies revolve around motorsports on tv , and anything that doesn't involve having to get dressed
  9. ive got a mobile number lol, have texted it...so if you don't get a message pm me your right number
  10. yeah course chick, no idea what route we're doing yet though it may be the boring M route. you thinking of coming to us Saturday morning ??
  11. due to weeks of illness we wont be camping, but definitely still there for the meet up, we will be having a few drinks in his honour ( and its also my birthday weekend ) back at ours in derby if anyone wants to come, welcome to stay over as long as you don't mind kipping on sofa/floor.
  12. We will be considering staying Saturday night providing its not sub zero or snowing. Would love to have a knees up in his honour on Saturday night
  13. wayyyyy too fecking chilly in march, cadwells far enough that I like to camp the night before, last time we had to ride up after work, arrived gone midnight, and our breath was forming bloody icicles as we put the tent up... end result was no sleep due to being absolutely freezing, and starting the day knackered....have fun though, that's a decent price
  14. A2 is 19, you don't have to have A1 first, just a valid cbt and theory, you will then be restricted to 47bhp for 2 years, and after that you can do the full A license test if you want to
  15. obviously the main meet is Saturday , but we are considering staying over , so if there are people who cant make Saturday but want to have a catch up on sunday , we are happy to make a weekend of it , likewise anyone who wants to come pitch a tent and have a few beers Saturday night,
  16. also im sure other people will have their own opinions, but unless you are riding everyday, i'd be checking the tyres every time I get the bike out, takes seconds.
  17. make sure chin vents open, don't wear anything stuffed up the bottom of the helmet, and crack it open when you stop at lights or are trickling through traffic
  18. wait for some decent road and weather conditions, pick an interesting stretch of road that you know well, and ride it over and over, working on the things you feel you are struggling with....don't push it for speed, but concentrate on being comfortable, holding your road position, and just settling into being safe . over time and with many passes on the same road, you should find you relax and start holding the ride more smoothly, and then the speed will gradually increase in a safe way . I would also highly recommend both bikesafe and performance plus, followed by IAM training,
  19. He he,Gin that made me smile hun
  20. All 4 of us coming stu, probably plus brax's uncle stew, so put us down for 5, will have to pay once I work finances out as just changed jobs and not likely to get paid much this month

  22. I'd be hard pushed to pick a favourite, and there was no worst. I got a pair of awesome camping chairs which packup the size of your average make up bag ( not that I'd know, and the chairs would definitely go on first) A new kindle fire ,yipee Amazing coffee stuff ( syrups liqueurs tassimo coffee, etc etc,ooh and 2 different baileys)from chira An awesome breakfast pan ( might sound a bit sad, but its bloody ace) And lots of other cool bits, including a chain monkey.....which I have no clue how to use, but will be trying out as soon as this bloody rain stops. I also just got a rather awesome not Xmas pressie in the shape of a new ( to me) car
