  1. That pretty much it. Once you go to put the bolts back in put some copper slip on to help prevent them seizing afterwards
  2. They also do brake bleeding nipples as well. Might just look into them for both bikes.
  3. As Delkevic are now charging £189 for them. Your way is definitely cheaper. Didn't charge anywhere near that when I did mine. Was still more expensive but not quite so steep.
  4. Does that include having it welded in or is it just the kit? The advantage of buying new down pipes is minimal time off the road. Saying that they have shot up in price (Delkevic ones) for down pipes. Certainly when I had my Bandit I just replaced the down pipes as I rode every day so having the bike off the road was just not an option.

    Wales

An Englishmans idea of utopia surely

    Wales

Wales is good, Brecon Beacons and North Wales would make good biking holidays
  7. Crikey, was there not a doctor on the ship? Glad to hear you are improving GWS.
  8. No it's not legal to park any form of motorised transport on a pathway. Usually if you are not causing an obstruction or hazard you'll get away with it. Varies from place to place. Chester for example will give you a ticket for it. There was a couple of spots you could park a bike in ( both were bicycle racks) , but now you will get a ticket. Other places don't bother.
  9. Machine Mart do ones for about 25 squid that go up to around 240nm
  10. Karmas a bitch that certainly made me laugh !
  11. So the link pipe is stuck by rust I assume? I think taking off the down pipes to get better access would be your best bet. You have removed the bolt that's down by the centre stand thou? You get access to it from the opposite side iirc.
  12. What do you think is the likelihood of any of us owning a thermometer that would be suitable for taking a reading from a hot exhaust?
  13. What surprises me about them is they are so small. Look fun thou.
  14. Unless you need to carry a pillion or use a motorway ( bit dicey on a 125 imv) as others have said wait till you can do your A2. Can't see any point in paying that money to the gov just to ride a 125 without L's.
  15. Pass your test and get a bigger bike
  16. Learning to pass the test and becoming a good rider are two different things. To pass the test you have to learn to ride the way the examiner wants to see you ride. DAS,A2 and A1 courses teach you that. If you don't think that you would progress quickly enough on a block DAS course, by all means ride around on a 125 for a bit, not too long as you will soon pick up bad habits ( we all do). That will teach you slow speed control etc and build up your confidence. Just do your course in weekly segments or do it as a block after a couple of months on the 125. As to buying a 125 as you intend to do DAS buy a second hand Japense bike ( better resale value than Chinese), buying new would mean you take the big depreciation hit that happens when you buy any new vehicle. As to becoming a good rider that comes down to riding and common sense. If you were to do the likes of bike safe post test (where you go on a supervised ride usually with the Police , have also heard of ROSPA instructors doing it), they will show and advise you on more advanced techniques. Again further training such as the track schools ( Ron Haslam et al) will again show you "better" ways of cornering etc. Just my pennies worth
  17. Have a good time guys and ride safe.
  18. Well that didn't last long. Do yourself a favour pass the test before any further trips round the block.
  19. Use a piece of wood as a lever, that will the lift the wheel up. Position it so that your knee can operate it and that then leaves your hands free to sort the axle, spacers etc. Simples.

    Oil Top-up or Change

If you don't know what's in it, just do a full change imv. If you can find out what's in it top it up. As to full or semi what does the manual recommend?
  21. What I had on my Bandit, well worth the money. Sounds great as well. Putting the downpipes on is easier with some one help thou as they can be fiddly.
  22. IIRC there's a bolt attaching it to the engine block as well. Did you do that one as well? Ignore this you said it was missing
  23. Ok send me your address details and I'll post it in the next few days, more likely at the weekend.
  24. Get it back to the dealer if it's under warranty. If you haven't bought a Haynes for it yet you can have my old one as I no longer have a Bandit. Will stress it's well used, I had two mark 2 bandits over a 8 year peroid ( first one got written off, just traded in the second one for my present bike)
