  1. He's still got to remove it Ok I wasn't very clear ( pun intended) I meant the helmet. I agree with JRH it doesn't look as if it can be removed ( visor that is)
  2. Considering how cheap it is, might just be better to replace it. A replacement visor usually costs around £20 but like you can't find one.

I agree but if you've never done it ..... Or don't have the right tools then not so easy.

If you've never done it before might be an idea if you see anyone else can help you. I'm nowhere near Dorset otherwise I would offer

Sounds like you did it without doing that. Also use a breaker bar rather than the the socket driver. You will be able to get more leverage that way and you will need it. Front sprockets are put on at a high torque setting.
  6. Use a breaker bar not your socket driver to undo it as well.
  7. If you see it before you hit it other than don't brake etc ...... Pray is my advise
  8. Police will crush it when you're pulled for that exhaust and you're found to not have insurance... White walls are the least of your worries! Haha What's wrong with the exhaust ? As I said I'm very new to this so I'm pretty ignorant to the laws lol It will be insured. Just no mods declared... Maybe I should look into having the mods on the polity! In that case it will not be insured. No insurance company will touch it unless mods are declared. So you are looking at a hefty bill to any 3rd party injured / killed by you. Driving without insurance. The offences go on and on. Grow up. You are 27 not 10 years old.
  9. To annoy you. No other reason needed
  10. Click and reserve it at your local store , then they'll email you when it's ready to pick up. Very syrprised that it's not available in store thou.
  11. Haynes as others have suggested. Then all you need a reasonable socket set ( Halfords Advanced are worth the money imv and a torque wrench to stop you over tightening any nuts etc) Those tools will save you a fortune when it comes to garage fees. Yes it is as easy as undoing a few nuts.
  12. The only thing as others have said is to practice. What about doing a days training on a 125 with the school who did your cbt one on one. That way you can practice what you need to. Don't take your bike ( if you have bought one ) to a car park as you will be open to riding without insurance etc.
  13. I used to use the Oxford 1st time ones worked well but security is the main down side as very easy to get what ever is inside them. They come with bungees and straps for attaching to the bike. Just make sure they don't foul the exhaust. As to capacity they were able to carry a long week ends gear for the missus and I. Only reason I no longer have them my bike has hard luggage.

    Chain tension

Deso when I do mine I just check the slack is as per the manual. I also slacken mine off on a regular basis as the Triumph one is prone to seizing and that's the way it's been recommended to avoid this. A hub strip is part of the major service ever other year as well.
  15. Just to let people know Halfords have their socket sets on offer again. If you need a 46mm socket the 3/4" drive 21 piece set is at £100 only on the web site. With the 3/4 " drive you also will have a socket for the front sprocket and a suitable breaker bar.
  16. The DSA do several books on riding. The police hand book is for after your test, it's for advanced riding. Speak to the school were you are doing your lessons I'm sure they will be able to advise on suitable books.
  17. If it's a mark 2 onwards. The sensor is on the front sprocket cover, check the wiring as prone to getting water in it. Give it a clean and hopefully that will be it. Otherwise eBay is your best betto get one. Dealers want silly money for them.

    Exhaust Clamp

    Front brake cable

Have a look at http://www.derbi.com/uk/index.php for your nearest dealer. They should be able to advise or order spares for you. If it's not a brake cable than is it a speedo/tacho cable?
  20. Pink with A,K and p on it. Everything else is provisional. I only have my bike license, passing a car test is on my bucket list
  21. Cut a slot in it then use an impact driver
  22. Or alternatively put studs in and use brass nuts. The brass nuts will thread if they become seized before any damage to the stud thread, so all you would need to do is replace the brass nuts in that case. It's a common mod and prevents the problem with the bolts seizing.
