  1. I was assuming it didn't have one
  2. May take the Speed Four just to confuse you It's lairy green so you can't miss that either
  3. I have loads you can use Alex - I'll send you a pm. I'll have a sort through - Southend Shakedown, Meldreth Bike show, Ace Cafe, Ashley Martin ride, Ring of Red, BMF etc....
  4. I'd recommend an Abba stand to get the rear off the ground. You can also get add-ons to get both front and rear up. I've an Abba stand for my Speed Four and I can get the bike on and off it on my own. Used it to lower the bike - very stable.
  5. I've been working down in London this week and, with the tube strike on, too many nobs (vans, cars AND bikes) around there to mention! Nob of the day goes to the L-plated sports 125 rider (think it was a CBR but TBH I wasn't really focussing on the make) when I was heading home on the B1040 up to the A428 near Eltisley - he/she overtook the car coming towards me so I had to brake hard and get over as far as I could to prevent a head-on. Total misjudgement and lucky I still had my wits about me after a 13 hour+ day. The next car was quarter of a mile behind me so he/she could easily have waited a few seconds.
  6. Me too, in Hammersmith, so a bit unlikely I'll be back in time. One of my colleagues was talking about taking his bike to get through the traffic but London traffic doesn't appeal much. Hats off to you guys and girls who do it regularly
  7. Bonnie MOT this morning, passed with no advisories - the guy commentsd that i' d missed a bit of polish on the wheel rims Cleaned Bonnie again ready for her photoshoot tomorrow , although apparently there will be cleaning stuff there to make sure she's looking her best
  8. Nice ladder, ratchet strap, jack assembly I've just got back from work and there appears to be an engine on the drive
  9. All welcome. When we do rideouts from the rally, we always have one at a more leisurely pace to suit 125s and 'leisurely' riders (I normally go on it )
  10. I polished it before I came out for optimum glare
  11. We were still there Neil. Ollie arrived fairly soon after you left. Nice to see everyone - and the clouds avoided us....
  12. Cool I'm the short, fattish blonde on the green thing
  13. One of the best turnouts for the Shakedown that I've seen - grand day out Nice to meet you, Daver5. Did you get down to Southend in the end? Ye Olde Kursaal Bikes as far as the eye can see.......
  14. Pi$$ing down here too but forecast does look better for tomorrow at the moment (if I haven't just jinxed it by saying that). We will be at the Travellers Joy pub car park (Hungry Horse) in Rayleigh at around 11am and will ride to Southend via the back roads from from there Downhall Road. Rayleigh. Essex. SS6 9JF
  15. With just a cbt you can only ride a bigger bike on L plates if accompanied by a qualified instructor or examiner, ie lessons or tests. You must take your tests on a bigger bike. If you take them on a 125, you will be stuck riding a 125 these days
  16. It's a huge rideout from the Ace Cafe on the North Circular to Southend seafront - its every Easter Bank Holiday Monday (see link at the beginning of this thread) We normally go straight to Southend (via Rayleigh) although I did do the Ace route one year. You can't miss it in Southend - head to the seafront for miles of bikes
  17. This! x 2 and if you improve your road positioning - towards the right for left-handers, well over to the left for right-handers then you can see further around the bend and you'll find you can corner faster and smoother. Almost certainly you are not looking far enough ahead - as you are cornering, keep your focus on the 'vanishing point' where the road seems to disappear. If you can see all the way round the bend in the first place then the chances are you don't need to slow anyway. I'll freely admit that I'm not the fastest at cornering (considerably faster than the ubiquitous little old lady though - or old bloke in a hat if you want to even the stereotype score)- but I try to make sure that I'm smooth, get the right line etc.. and that, for me when its going well, is pure pleasure. Also agree with the OP, we all have our off days, don't dwell on it, relax and move on
  18. No problems, slight scuff on the crash bung - that's what they're for I suppose My pride is a bit dented though (dropped kermit on the gravel!)
  19. Still in Northampton at the moment but may be back in time There will be people and bikes there though if the weather stays good - I reckon about there was 20 or so last week
  20. It's hard to find bike clothes that fit all eventualities - particularly with the British weather. If you are going to be strictly a fair-weather pillion then armoured kevlar jeans sound like a good idea, perhaps with some inexpensive waterproof over trousers in case you get caught out in the rain. Don't stint on the armour though - Kevlar will protect your skin from abrasion but the armour can potentially prevent fractures - not all kevlar jeans have pockets for armour Hood jeans do a ladies version that I'm thinking of trying - I tried some supposedly 'unisex' jeans from another manufacturer on at the London bike show but they had about 6" of spare material at the waist (or 6" not enough material at the hip depending on how you want to look at it ) ie. 'Unisex' = 'Bloke'. The only good thing about the fit was that you could adjust the height of the knee armour ('Woman' = 'short bloke') I have lightly vented leather bike trousers that I wear with thermals under when its cold - they suit most conditions
  21. Its a nice little pub with a reasonably sized car park and plently of outside benches to sit on. I imaging it gets really rammed down there later on in the year (especially with no Marina or Ultimate Bikes). There was a group of BSAs there tonight, Guzzis, adventure type BMWs, a Bonnie, Ken's new cruiser - quite a mix. Not a sports bike to be seen though- my Speed Four came closest Didn't see what they do in the way of food
  22. You go onto your profile via the User Control Panel (top right icon) and there is a space for the score on your profile
  23. Must've been out at the same time Bancroft cows (tag wouldn't lay flat but I was definitely there today ) Bridge 127 Dunstable Downs Visitor Centre
