  1. Replaced the screen and digitiser on a 4s for my son a couple of times myself with £20 ones off ebay. Fiddly but worked ok (until it the next time it got mashed)
  2. Try making some cucumber maki, very easy to do with sushi rice, cucumber chopped into strips and seaweed sheets. You can also get bamboo rolling mats in a lot of supermarkets which make them easier to do as Ollie says, genuine sushi rice works best because it sticks together. Don't rinse it too much to keep the gluten. Also cut the seaweed sheets in half so you just have one layer otherwise you get a spiral - looks neater Also try rolls with prawns, avocado, smoked salmon or cooked aubergine. A VERY light smear of wasabi inside to roll is also good but its easy to overdo Katsu chicken strips are easy too, the panko breadcrumbs are also easy to get hold off. Have fun
  3. Nottingham and back in the freezing rain did a lot of good then?
  4. Day off today so I thought I'd make a start. All very local: The Cock The Royal Oak The Black Bull The Vine Kimbolton School
  5. Sounds like a memorable Christmas, what a cutie! She's in good hands at the Rosie and, even more importantly, has her loving family close by to help her. Best wishes for you and your family, Alan.
  6. I am 'working from home' today but it's very quiet. I could play with MS Project but I suppose I better go and get the turkey etc.... can't put it off any longer....F**k it!
  7. Would agree that waterproof leathers are unlikely but leathers plus a waterproof oversuit could do the job. These guys are good http://www.triumphfactoryoutlet.com/sec ... ns_jackets Not too much on the site at the moment Its good quality gear but the Triumph logo may not go with your Suzuki though
  8. Merry Christmas Was great to meet up. Hope everyone has a relaxing, festive time.
  9. Happy Birthday Gill
  10. Tights, leggings, running gear. All seems to work ok. Lots of layers
  11. I bought a spare top yoke off ebay and got it drilled with a pillar drill at work so I kept the original yoke. There isn't much of a honeycomb under the S4 yoke and the top is smooth so it was fairly straightforward. LSL do a range of top yoke conversion kits too for various bikes but quite expensive. Also not angled so I went for a DIY job.

  13. Used these http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.d ... tAodhkoAdQ They have a 20degree angle to bring the bars towards you slightly. Paired them with Rental ultra low bars. More comfortable riding position and better low speed handling
  14. Unlikely
  15. Fingers crossed she gets better
  16. BTW, the jury is out whether FIV cats can go out. There are loads of FIV positive cats that have never been diagnosed and most lead pretty normal lives.
  17. The viruses that cause both FIV and FIP have a fairly high instance in the general cat population and often cause few symptoms. This is particularly true of coronavirus that causes FIP. Normally they just have mild diarrhoea and then recover, some go on to develop FIP. You could test for both viruses (we do test kits) but knowing exactly what it is now 1. Wouldn't necessarily tell you the cause of the current problem 2. Wouldn't affect the outcome Some vets wouldn't hesitate to do lots of extra testing and pass on the cost with an enormous markup, kerching. They could also spend ages explaining the diseases to you and charge you for the time So I would say this one is a keeper
  18. Both FIV and FIP are caused by viruses. The meds will help the cat feel better and increase appetite but don't actually treat the disease. The body fights that and it takes time to recover. There isn't much you can do at the moment apart from wait. If the cat looks like its in obvious extreme pain and discomfort or refuses all food and drink then go back early but otherwise just follow the vet's advice. I'm not a vet though, biomedical scientist - we do diagnostic equipment for vets
  19. Went there one year on the Bonnie. Wasn't too bad on the way there but nearly froze solid on the way back. My boots get uncomfortable if I walk around in them all day too. Excuses, excuses
  20. http://www.therideofrespect.co.uk/ring-of-red-m25 Link, also on Facebook
  21. Me and Tango might be up for this. We've already spoken about the idea of Europe next year and this looks really good. The Bonnie has a tank range of about 120-130miles. 2 more bikes but only one room needed though. I speak a bit of (poor) German too
  22. Have to pull the key out a fraction on the Speed Four too so it sounds like it isn't manufacturer specific. As it happened after rain though its more likely to be water related. May take a little time for the WD40 to penetrate
  23. Congratulations - your determination really paid off!
