  1. I'm not able to ride at the moment (or drive) but I hope you get a good turnout.
  2. Going tomorrow! Also looking forward to escaping as it is now one week since my op, I can't drive or ride and I'm booooooooored! Wasn't sure whether I was going to be up to it but I think I'll be OK. Not sure whether I'll be able to get my leg over (fnar) many bikes
  3. I've found that regular administration of 'Beer' means that you don't have to resort to the stronger and potentially more lethal (and expensive) 'Marriage'
  4. Longer gloves?
  5. Can I reserve a chair or should I bring my own?
  6. Terrible news! Just don't know what to say really. Will miss his cheeky grin. RIP Aaron and condolences to his family and all who knew him
  7. Done for the old lady demographic. Lol
  8. The one in Dent is walkable to the village and the George and Dragon in Dent has accommodation and a function room Worth a thought?
  9. What's Squires like for camping? I guess there isn't a lot of non camping accommodation around there though. There's also this one in the dales http://www.thebikerguide.co.uk/bikerfri ... shire.html
  10. Can do any but I think I'm more likely to be up for walking there and back on the later dates
  11. We got back an hour or so ago. Fuel and coffee stops enroute. Nice to see everyone
  12. I'm a similar shape to you by the sound of it. Most of my jackets are Triumph (I didn't pay full price for any of them ) Consider a longer line jacket with a belt you can tighten. http://www.triumphfactoryoutlet.com/pro ... af677063f1 Also, as Arwen said, zip to your trousers
  13. I agree, it is about technique not weight or strength. I have a Triumph Bonneville which is over 200kg and a lowered Speed Four which is under 170kg and don't really notice a significant difference between them except if leaning them against one leg when stopped. I'm 50, 5'4" (and a bit) and not especially strong. (Not that light though. Lol)
  14. We have a 3 berth vango with a largish porch. Fits easily on my bike. It's an eos 350 which I don't think is available any more but there will be something similar. Porch is particularly useful to keep wet bike gear separate from the sleeping bit. We also have self inflating roll mats. They are fairly comfortable and don't take up much space
  15. Yeah, is it in motorcycle maintenance, design engineering, riding/racing them, history, culture? Sounds like they could do with a lecturer in writing job descriptions. I could lecture in motorcycle appreciation maybe
  16. It was very busy this evening, not surprisingly. They had sausages on the bbq. Pork and sage, very tasty. We decided not to try the ones with added beetroot and horseradish. Not feeling brave enough, Took the bike into work today via circuitous routes as well - another tankful gone.
  17. We got home safely about 3.45. Nice dry run. Will post some pics later
  18. Happy Birthday
  19. Frequently followed by a Bonneville with allen keys, waterproofs, side stand puck, bungees, camera, TMBF tag numbers.......... Or by a Speed Four with....................nothing
  20. I blame the hairy bikers
  21. Don't worry about turning up on your own We are just one big (dysfunctional) family. Recommend Vango tents - light, last well and pack up small. Try to get one with a bit or a porch if you can because, even if you are on your own, you don't want to share a tent with wet bike gear
  22. We went the week before - it was really busy but none of our lot. Didn't go yesterday because is was pi$$ing down
  23. Yep, may be easier to replace. ACF50 is good at removing rust and also preventing future rust. I put a little bit on a rag and coat metal parts very so often after the bike has been washed. Its quite expensive but good stuff and you don't need to spray it around, a little goes a long way
