Brill cheers weebl worked a charm, Did the first coat of matte black today. It's looking good I'm expanding my project to get my exhaust from engine to muffler nice nd shiny. Was wondering would a good amount of autosol nd elbow grease be enough to shine it up again?

That's the intention! I have no intention of sitting on the M1 all the way! Open to suggestions though! Oww and Berkshire lads do u fancy piping up!

Cool cheers guys, for the tips, I dd go out and ge one. In the end I'm a bit of a perfectionist so rather know I'm doing it exact right then be going down the motorway with a doubt in the back of my mind. I do cover aminimum of 50 iles a day after all!

So hurdle number 2, i have chipped the old paint work down to the metal while trying to remove the old grip pad down the centre of the fuel tank... Is this worth getting filler for? to touch it up then just sand it down with the rest of the tank? as i don't intend on paint stripping the whole tank. or will the 2primer layers and 2 colour layers be enough to mask it you reckon?

Panel wash worked a treat! Mighty good stuff at getting rid of it!

As the title suggests I have begun the respray of my bike. And hurdle number 1 has arrived. When removing decals how best can u get rid of the glue leftover? Sanding it often is very ineffective so I'm thinking there is a better way to remove the decals... Any advice much appreciated.

Must admit this mate me chuckle quite hard in a silent office.... -this is not to detract from the quality of the advice. just alwyas love it when wrench and twat make it into the same sentence!

I like the suggestion of the pay off bike. and then save the extra £200 towards a Oz trip. just think by EOY you have 1.2k good to go. otherwise trip to Oz, keepsome aside for the 28k service. Esp if the £200 a month is thrashing you. thats my 2pence. J

So im looking at buying a torque wrench and i've noticed something rather annoying.... the range my bike requires anywhere from 6-127nm is not available? i've seen 8-60, 40-200, 60-300... could anyone prove me wrong as i really don't want to either have to buy two or go through the manual and work out what jobs ill be doing and see if they fit in a single range provided by a torque wrench. any ideas?

never heard of such a reasonable 'guy' £30 for 90mins work amazing... or do you mean 9minutes!!!

had exact same issue on by previous bike... was the speedo cable. fortunately easy fix.

I mentioned in passing in a thread i would be painting my bike this month... the money is ready to be spent, so im looking for some recommendations on good quality/value materials to do the job with. Could those of you with prior experience/knowledge give me you 2pence worth on recommended goods so i don't fall foul to marketing/salesman gibberjabber when i go shopping. Spraygun: aluminium etching primer: Fuel tank primer: Plastics primer: torque wrench: Paint stripper for the fuel tank: others i have on my list are: 150/400/800/2000 grit sand paper similar grits of wet and dry for the aluminium Items excluded from list. Coloured paint - ¬ Lacquer / clear coat. - --I'm doing a matte finish so the paint will have a hardening agent in it. Will be made up by a painter guy.

You'd definitely need some serious 'swagger' to go with such an arrival!
