  1. Still waiting to see what the weather's gonna be like before I commit to taking the bike. Plus my poorly cat might end up curtailing my plans... However, all being well, I'll be on bike and arriving late afternoon Saturday 26th, so a Sunday meet gets my vote. I'll keep yas posted...
  2. Knickerbrook or Lodge for me... The parking is rubbash for bikes sadly. Muddy fields only and nowhere is level. Take a puck!
  3. Sob! I don't wanna talk about it no more...
  4. Sadly no. Working late again...
  5. You've got the same birthday as me rennie! But I'll be in the lakes lamenting the end of my youth...
  6. Technically, I was on an MCN site meet today, but nice to bump into you lot in Matlock too...

Mick, MFN is technically in Derbyshire, but if you cross the river Erewash about a quarter of a mile away you're in Nottinghamshire. The Eastwood end is Nottinghamshire, the Shipley end is Derbyshire... Donington circuit is technically in Leicestershire, but Redgate, Hollywood and the top bit of Craner Curves, plus the Redgate end parking area are all in Derbyshire... Confused? Try living here. I live in Nottingham NG16, but my council tax is Amber Valley in Derbyshire and my phone code is Alfreton (8 miles away). Go figure... Sorry. Off topic...

Me & Bex talked about this. We both really want to go but I found out I can't get the Friday off work. Flights out on Saturday and back on Monday were over £200!! That's not to mention hotels and tickets. So it's looking rather unlikely...
  9. I'm working on Saturday, but might pop along on Sunday...
  10. I can't do any more. Knockhill, Croft & Brands too far away. Oulton too soon (i.e. before payday), Cadwell is on Bank Holiday Monday when I'm working and Silverstone is just the dullest circuit... I guess I'll be recording the C4 highlights then...
  11. Have found Whitby on the map and it's a bit too far for me. Soz...
  12. I've been already. Mallory Park a couple of weeks back. Can't do any more...
  13. Can I just point out this is Dorna's decision not necessarily BBC's. BBC were going to continue their motoGP coverage no matter what Dorna's decision regarding Eurosport was. Dorna have decided to pull the coverage from Eurosport entirely, that's all over Europe not just in the UK. Not sure the reason behind their decision but the fact remains you can still watch all the racing and qualifying live on BBC for free and you won't need to pay Sky/Virgin or whatever... So other than different presenters/commentators (who in fairness listens to that rubbash anyway? I turn the sound down) and no interruptions from advertising, you won't miss a thing. If you want to be kept up to date with all the latest news and paddock gossip http://www.crash.net, http://www.motogp.com and of course http://www.motorcyclenews.com are the places to go... What on earth is all this fuss about?
  14. Lovely idea, but I can't get time off work during summer, so no can do for me...
  15. I can answer that one too. BBC, due to the nature of the organisation simply aren't allowed to report any paddock 'news' until it's a done deal, so pit lane gossip and speculation is not included like it might be on commercial channels... Used to do a bit of work for the BBC in the past so I know this stuff... Rest assured people, you will still get all the race and qualifying coverage, you'll just have to get used to different presenters (I admit that Oz chap is a bit of a clampet, but Steve Parrish and Suzi Perry are OK) and enjoy advert-free racing...
  16. BBCi live streaming might be on different numbered channels on Sky and Virgin maybe...?
  17. I have committed to the MCN meet (weather permitting of course, if it's like today I shall stay in bed!). But since you're all meeting in the same place at the same time I can just seem über-popular... I wouldn't want to join a rideout or go up to the Cat anyway...
  18. Now then, there is an MCN forum meet the same day at the same time and same place. That's rather spooky I think...
  19. Like I've said before, I totally agree with Voodoo. I understand Eurosport needs advertising revenue but to put the ad breaks without warning right in the middle of a race is infuriating to the point of insanity... To reiterate the point, you do not necessarily need the mythical red button, you can also access BBCi live streaming and interactive services via channels 301, 302, 303 and 304 on Freeview so I'm assuming there are channels on Sky and Virgin for this also. This means you can programme to record these services too just as you would any other channel... I've watched every round of motoGP on BBC this year and I can assure you no live coverage has been 'bumped' for other programming. That's the beauty of digital live streaming. It runs alongside their existing programming without disrupting any schedules. At the moment the BBC have 4 streams but next year they plan to have 12 primarily for sports and the arts. There's some blurb about it on their website... Obviously analogue viewers will need a digital box which cost from £20. You will not need to subscribe to Sky, Virgin or any other pay-TV service. It's all covered in the price of the licence fee, which I believe is considerably cheaper and you have to buy if you have a TV anyway... Happy viewing. RIP Eurosport...
  20. Oh yeah, I really ought to learn to read. Snigger... Think I've already got a meet planned for then...
  21. I'm not out this weekend. I'm down south on Auntie duty...
  22. Hmm. Would love to go to Brands again as I was gutted to miss it last year but can't really work out the logistics of it. I have stayed at my sister's in Essex before but she no longer has room for me or my bike. Then two years ago I rode there and back on the day (nearly 400 chuffing miles!), I ain't doing that again!! Problem is, I don't camp and hotels down south are silly money... So probably no unless I get some divine inspiration. Admittedly the queues to get in and out and on the M25 are a bit offputting. Took over 5 hours from putting helmet on to get home last time, 3 hours of which were spent queuing. Far worse than Donington... However, 'tis a mighty fine circuit to watch from once you venture that far south (passports recommended)...
  23. Maybe I should organise a run for the single and childless? Snigger...
  24. One day maybe. But I'm working every day in August. Weekends included. So no bike time sadly...
  25. You'll be fine as long as you bring a pillion/rear gunner. I might camp unless Houd's coming, that will be enough camp for the weekend. I don't do pillion. Maybe I should steer clear of Hull then. Snigger...
