    Motorcycle MOT

the HORN is of reasonable volume Beep, Beep, Beep
  2. White smoke would seem to indicate condensation,, either that or you've been elected,,, POPE
  3. Panniers hold a lot more in weight & luggage with the centre of gravity lower down, a top box is higher up, so to much weight will affect balance on corners
  4. Fix up a date, time & place when the sun is out & see who can make it I live in broughton ( brit aero, not pentre) my time is fairly flexible
  5. OK Guys, time to start thinking about this one,, A two day event for free,, Take your pick Sat, Sun or both
  6. Normally I would agree Col, but on the ER most of the chrome on the forks is under the fairing, I still stick to the hugger for first thing to buy, to stop all the wet & crap getting into all the nooks crannies & electrics under the seat area,,
  7. Forks are easy to keep clean & a wipe with a bit of oil keeps them good as new,,, BUT a hugger is a must & keep your eye on the two cross members fwd of the rear wheel, without the hugger they take all the hammer from road dirt, even with the hugger they still pick up a lot, I had my ER new in 06 & those two areas will be the ones you need to keep on top of, A big blob of thick grease should do the job Good bikes the ER's just about to swop mine for,,,,,,, another ER,, sadly not the 09, they moved the rear handles from the top to the side, so my Givi panniers won't fit the new models, found an 07 with only 1175 miles on it & pick it up tomorrow
  8. Don't use autocom, just radios for B2B With head set & mike, I have to use a PTT button as VOX will not work, VOX only works when used as a hand set, I think a lot of radios may be the same
  9. Dont ride in North Wales with that,, theres a good chance you'll get pulled,, and dont forget it's illegal at for night time
  10. An old tea cosy from your granny is the way to go,, even the holes for the spout & handle are in the right place for ears,, eat more pies,,, silly idea that Hello Keith nice to hear you

  12. Here you go Mr K, http://www.bikechannel.com/node/1567 Pic's of mine later, must say it's a nice bit of gear & a lot lighter than my nolan, Get an extra light tint visor, under chin cover & full helmet to neck cover + the bag went to look at jackets

  18. ALL TOGETHER,,,, With uncle Tom Cobbly and all,, old uncle Tom Cobbly and all Sorry couldn't resist it
  19. buying a helmet is a thing that takes time, if your in a hurry or short on time, then pick another day,,, A helmet should be a good firm fit to your head & only move when your head moves,,, the other consideration is weight, wind pressure on a heavy helmet can give you a stiff neck after you start to knock up a bit of milage,, So when you try on a helmet that feels good, keep it on, walk round the shop, look at all his other gear, but keep the helmet on,, any tight or uncomfortable areas will soon let you know they're there after about 20min's, the longer you can keep it on so much the better,, it's your money, so make sure what you buy is right for you,,,,,,, expensive is not always best, in bike mag tests some of the cheaper helmets have performed better than those costing £200
  20. I Know these are new, but a bit cheaper than givi & all the same fittings as give, don't know how much you want to pay, but might worth a bit extra over 2nd hand price to know you've got panniers that are 100% right. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... ent_cat/86
  21. I'll keep my mouth shut, But it's really tempting
  22. Had a word with sister Sue (marmalade) just to check,, Yep 99% certain will be ok, dont bother with senior rates, can manage a tenner, will just live on gruel for the next few weeks then get as sick as a pig on chocy
