  1. I use the car this weather, It's got central locking Couldn't get the door open A good dose of antifreeze job done, engine running, waiting for all the ice to clear of the screen Next time your lock freeze's up a kettle of warm water will do the job, but dry it out & give it a squirt of WD40
  2. best I can find is this http://www.renntec.co.uk/product930.html
  3. Some of the ones posted these days are just as daft, But then if you never ask, you never find out

    Petrol tap

Normally taps have three positions, Off, Fuel & Reserve,, Could it be your riding with the tap in the reserve position
  5. I had a multitec & to be honest you can do a lot better than shoei at half the cost,,,, have a look at Nolan they run rings round the multi,, & the one I've got my eye on is the Givi flip front,,, now that is nice,, both of these have detachable linings, unlike the shoei which is glued in,,,,,,
  6. something to fill holes in tyres ,, Ho yes, some squirty stuff & wipes for cleaning flies off the visor
  7. All said by QB, leave it alone & save your money, chinese bikes ain't worth the scrap they're made from, save a bit more & buy a used jap, then you'll have something worth hanging panniers on,
  8. Now come on,, disk lock alarms are feeble things in the way of noise & they only work when someone has a go at them,, better to spend a bit extra on a good lock, but if its noise you want then it has to be a bike wired system,,,,,, it's all, money, money, money
  9. This is a great chunk of iron for a disk lock that came top in the Ride magazine when tested against a load of others, it also lasted the longest when tested by a reformed bike thief employed by the Mag to do his worst in trying to remove as if stealing a bike, http://www.worldofpower.co.uk/Motorcycl ... keyword%7D it don't stop people playing with your bike, but they ain't going to wheel it away, the other thing is it's an approved device accepted by insurance companies so will save you a couple of quid on your policy
  10. As said by Dan, An idea to keep in mind with jackets, fabric or leather is a detachable lining, it then doubles as winter or summer wear,,
  11. I just buy what I think is good & at a good price, colour don't come into it, example :- metalic blue kwak bike, black & red triumph fabric jacket,, but 100% waterproof
  12. £100 on gloves is over the top £30 to £60 will do the job, the rest is about right
  13. Don't know, Never tried it It would all depend on the quality of the leather or textile, then there's the different road surfaces, rough or smooth, again it would depend if it was dry or wet, could be that speed would come into it whether you sliding at 70mph or 30,, any other daft questions
  14. Don't think you should even be asking this question, if you have been advised to change because of it's age + you yourself can see cracks in the tyre side wall like the rubber is perished,, your own common sense should tell you to change it, your first ride should be to the tyre shop,,,,,,,,,
  15. It will if some little hoody with a spanner needs one for his bike,, they're not the sort of thing that falls off,, one nut vibrating off down that length of rusty thread,,,,, is doubtfull, but two nuts, hard to believe,,,
  16. Nice one that Mr T,, One care full owner from new ,,,,,,,.......B.S.M
  17. I had a Breva 750 ???????????? nice bike, but didn't set the world on fire, didn't like the twitchy bit when you blipped the throttle at lights

    Mobile mechanics

did you leave fuel in it when you put it away & had it evaporated when you got it out ? ? ?, you say fuel is reaching the carb's but is it reaching the chambers ? when you try to start it & take a plug out is it wet ? ? if no, then it's the carb's, strip the carb's & check the jets & make sure they are clear, todays green fuel if it evaporates leaves a deposit that will block the hole in the jet, looks clean outside but the last bit of fuel dries out in the jet & looks like green glass, if you have a on/off tap on your tank & was switched off you could get the same result from the fuel in the cab's drying out
  19. Could be fun, An Over Nighter On The Isle Of Angelsey,,, http://www.welshairbikers.me.uk/
  20. It's the square end the socket fits on, so will depend on what socket set you intend to use or have, if your thinking rear wheel then the 1/2" would be the one to go for due to the size of the nut, but if it's just general bike size nuts & bolts then the 3/8" should be more than ample,
  21. My gloves 2 years old & still fine But You want to sniff my boots
  22. A hammer & smack it ,,,, sounds like a good name for a pub get a small bit & drill down the centre of the bolt, then use a small easy out, should do the job, no need to smack anything
  23. ME,, for one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Well not on a helmet that is
  24. and the jacket's FREE
