  1. Nob of the day for me goes to the inconsiderate idiot who decided to jump in front of a train at London bridge station thus cancelling all southbound trains out of London!! Finally managed to get a train and ended up taking 1h45min to do a normally 27min journey in boiling heat, packed like sardines into a sweaty commuter train with no air con... I hope the train driver reversed over him to make sure he was dead.
  2. although some bulbs have a load resistor built in to make them direct replacements for standard filament bulbs. if yours flash at the same rate as the filament bulbs did, then chances are your LED's have a load resistor and you wont need a new relay. If you want to be totally sure, get a multimeter and use it to measure the current draw of both a filament bulb and an LED bulb. if they draw the same current, you dont need a new relay.
  3. Dont think there is any requirement for rims to be the same size, many bikes have different size front/rear. How far you got with this?? interesting project
  4. No problem with Horse riders they are aware they are a slow moving vehicle and happily try to move out of the way, and thank you for driving past slowly.. I've never had abusive hand gestures from a horse rider... Also never had any problem from casual cyclists either, the type who ride to work are fine... It only ever seems to be the weekend Lycra brigade who seem to have a real chip on their shoulder, and just recently there are loads of them!! Come to Sevenoaks. Everyone is either a banker or a lawyer.
  5. But thats why this cyclist is "nob of the day". it seems even if you are patient and allow them plenty of room (and i always do) if you pass them at a rate thats not acceptable to them, they get abusive!! Ive see so many angry cyclists its crazy. Where i live in Sevenoaks, it seems to be the latest craze for fat middle age bankers to spend a fortune on hi-tech state of the art racing bikes and ride round in packs, hogging the entire road in offensively tight fluorescent coloured lycra seemingly oblivious to the fact other road users might want to get past. Then if you do try to get past them they get really angry... Personally I think its all the pedalling, it causes adrenaline to pump round their unfit, overweight bodies and so they end up getting all angry at the slightest little thing. Idiots...
  6. Lycra clad middle aged wobbling cyclist who I waited patiently behind before overtaking when safe to do so. Just because I stuck the car in sports mode and booted it past him to give the car behind a chance to also get past, the cyclist saw fit to give me rude hand gestures.... Next time a cyclist gives me rude hand gestures, I might give them a brake test and possibly a face full of Audi rear window. Nob... Pay some f*kin road tax and learn the highway code!!
  7. Just serviced and now not running right? Take it back and ask them to fix it! They might have done something wrong (airbox not sealed, wrong plug, etc etc)
  8. This ones all yours then... good luck!
  9. thats because your not tightening the molegrips enough! you should be able to "bite" the stud harder with molegrips than with footprints...
  10. whereas the chain is spinning all of the time the bike is moving, so no reason to only make a noise from the chain between gear changes...
  11. So you mean the noise is when he's moving and pulls in the clutch?? get him to try riding along and just pull the clutch (without changing gear) to see if its related to the clutch. does he have oil in there??
  12. Do you have the wiring diagram?? I've got a PDF of the service manual if you want a copy
  13. Spam to promote the web link would be my guess.. mods should delete the links
  14. If anyone wants a list of motorbike shops, im working on building a directory site.. i wont spam the forum with the link as its not ready for public consumption, but much of the data is present, so if anyone wants to find a local bike shop i'll share the link when i get it finished, i need to have a word with Stu about advertising costs
  15. better still, support you local shops and tell them the Online price and let them match it, or throw in some freebies... If we all use shops just as a fitting service and then go away and buy online, the shops will all close down, then we'll be stuffed!! Also, Shops can often do a better deal than online prices because they dont have to factor in postage costs, packaging and the potential of returned goods. If you can buy from a local shop, please do so else we will lose them
  16. Central London shops are all overpriced!! they have to be to cover extortionate central London rental prices. if you can shop locally, then you'll find stuff a lot cheaper.
  17. £9.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-8-Impact-Br ... 3383f29e4f you only nee it for one stud, and if breaks, send it back
  18. its the kind of thing you dont use very often, but handy to have about.. Shop around, you can find cheaper ones. Cheap tools are often poor investment.. maybe find a 2nd hand one?? I still use my granddad's WW2 stud extractors.. he used them on Halifax Bomber engines!
  19. +1 Of just use a stud extractor!!! ">
  20. which part of London you looking in??
  21. Warm engine, loads of penetrating fluid, soak it overnight and grab it with stud extractor or molegrips.

    Diavel

With its bold design so its bound to split opinions.. I can see how it would appeal to some, but as Techno says, to me it looks to me like a "fat monster" for the American market... bet its good fun to ride though
  23. you're going to look like my twin!!!!
  24. Years ago it used to be called Kentucky Fried Chicken, but since trading standards found no actual chicken in there, they were forced to change names to KFC...
  25. seem to be a big price range of kevlar jeans... whos paid what price for good ones???
