  1. that annoys me too!! when you're just leaving a motorway service station and the idiot in front driving the crappy little 1.0l micra drives up the slip road at 40mph. Idiots in little cars shouldn't be allowed on motorway!!!

    Inline Switch??

Yes, hope they are good quality!! Buying electronic components is weirdly addictive isn't it!!??
  3. Didn't realise they had ABS brakes...
  4. nice one.. bike shopping time??

    Inline Switch??

Thanks for the research guys!! Ive ended up ordering some of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190838294390 And some of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290913242340 Hopefully one of them will be suitable...! I reckon i should be able to cut the wire, solder on each side of the switch, heatshrink over the top, and be left with a nice, flush mounted inline switch that i can cable tie to the frame... Thats the theory anyway!! just got to wait for them to arrive from HK.
  6. If you had died she would have got your money anyway, so she should have let you race.. This way, you didn't get to race and she gets all your money... Cruel...

    Inline Switch??

yep, pretty close, but still looks like it has spade connectors on the back that could fall off I guess i could just solder some wires onto a switch and using some heatshrink to cover the terminals.. I think im being too pedantic!! LOL

    Inline Switch??

yeah i know the theory, i was just hoping someone might make a sealed switch, (no terminals to solder, or casing to worry about) that i could splice inline on a 12v low current circuit, just like you can splice in the inline fuses. With all the switches i've found so far (like the marine switches you linked to), i'd still be left with exposed terminals on the back which i would need to cover in heat-shrink, or mount the switch in a container of some sort making it bulky. Also, they are not really "in-Line" so would not hide away as well. Basically, i have an alarm on my bike with a hidden switch that lets me cut the power to prevent battery drain. the switch i have at the moment is not great, so i was looking to replace it, and didn't want anything too large. Ideally something like an inline fuse holder, but a switch would be great.. I guess i could just use a fuse holder and pull the fuse, but thats not ideal as i could easily lose the fuse

    Inline Switch??

thanks guys, but i still cant seem to find anything that wouldnt look out of place on my bike... Waterproof would be useful too... just like the rubber waterproof inline fuse holders..

    Inline Switch??

So where can i get a little 12v inline switch from?? kind of like an inline fuse, but a switch. Closest thing i can think of is the switch on a bedside lamp, but smaller and for 12v bike wiring. anyone know what im talking about?? anyone seen anything similar?? Bit like this, but a switch.... http://www.rapidonline.com/catalogueimages/module/M071472P01WL.jpg
  11. Great video.... electric bikes are so weird!!!
  12. yes i need to... Ive set everything to default as a starting point.
  13. yep, I set all the adjustments back to the factory defaults for the bike, and when bouncing them about, they do feel better than the forks i took off, but that might just be because these have oil in them, and my old ones had leaked.. weather they do have stiffer springs is something i guess i wont know until i get the bike out on the road, and its looking like its about to dump down with rain, so i'll be waiting till later on before going for a ride.
  14. Me too! i think thats part of the reason he was swearing at me...
  15. Right, I managed to get some spare time this morning to get the forks fitted. Quite a simple job really. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to lift the front end of the bike off the ground! I ended up using my ratchet strap through a ceiling beam... Here's some pics: Hanging Bike: Leaking Fork: Legless! Artistic Shot: View from above: Both Sets of forks.. Spot the difference! Finished!! And in case you were wondering, the weird yellow walls & ceiling are covered in spray on foam insulation to keep the garage warm and condensation free...Ive not finished it yet as you can see, and it will be boarded over eventually so hidden away.
  16. You'll love the 023's. I've got them on my gixxer and a few other have had good experience with them. viewtopic.php?f=78&t=44498&hilit=bridgestone+023
  17. You have to get the On/Off road balance right.. My KTM has big off road knobbly tyres and that slides about all over the place on the road!
  18. Lets hope so mate!! I guess i wont know until i've got them on the bike and taken them for a good thrashing
  19. tricky problem! What do the big adventure style bikes come fitted with??
  20. Would forks from a Gixxer 600 be ok on the TL1000? is it just cosmetic of does it improve handling?
  21. Forks i bought from eBay arrived today. First impressions are that they are in very good condition!! No leaking from the seals, so i can swap them onto the bike this weekend. Ive tried bouncing up and down on them like a pogo stick, they feel like they are working properly, but dont know how stiff my standard forks are until i get them off. So once i get the forks off my bike, i'll be doing a "bounce test" to see if these new forks feel like they have a stiffer spring inside, as they were advertised to have. some pics...

    sukida 90cc

If it sounds like its firing, could be a fuel problem. Remove air filter put hand over the carb, kick a couple of times. Then remove your hand and kick again. Basically choking the engine a bit to draw more fuel.
  23. Nob of the day goes to the white van man who nearly drove into my car whilst I was taking the dogs for a walk tonight. Parked car on his side of the road, I was approaching from opposite direction. I saw he was going fast and likely wasn't going to stop to give way (even though he could have ). So I was forced to slow to a stop to allow him to pass the cars by driving on my side of the road whilst putting my hands in the air and shaking my head... Anyway, he sped through, shouted abuse at me, much to the disgust of two old ladies at the side of the road, then stopped and reversed up behind me presumably looking for a fight... Well I stopped and waited to see what he was going to do, then thought better of it and drove off very slowly...and watched him wheel spin off and the old ladies looking even more upset!!! What a complete nob!!! In hindsight, it might have been fun to wait till he was out of his van before popping the automatic boot at letting him come face to face with my large male Rottwieler and mental Labrador. I know they are harmless, but he wouldnt have know that! Lol.
  24. Take a look at the TZR250 and then you will really want one...
  25. you cant put a price on 2-stroke fun!!! Keep the oil rich, and the wost that will happen is you might burn a piston out... I buy all my two stroke oil from eBay... its lots cheaper than garages... kids these days on 125cc 4-stroke bikes have no idea what they are missing out on
