  1. Welcome!! Glad to see some more locals joining up Pop over to the newbie section and introduce yourself..
  2. Failing that, some rubber tube and a couple if cable ties. The tube could extend a short way (like they do on irons) to prevent the cable bending too sharply.
  3. you're making better progress than i am!! But this thread inspired me to get out and have a tidy up today. I managed to get the rest of the batons on the wall ready to spray-foam and overboard with OSB - i'll get there eventually
  4. Muchly enjoying reading this so far - tis a tad harsh Matty - comment fine but calling it sad? Not nice - sad face! Sad is quite tame, you want to hear what the rat bike fraternity would say! that is a bit harsh, hes just trying to do something interesting with his bike. no need to get nasty about it.... Although, he has a bit of a way to go until it looks like this!!! http://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/news/gallery/medium/grabenratte-the-grave-rat-bike-photo-gallery-medium_1.jpg
  5. Looks more like an Oil breather catch tank?? Collect the hot oil fumes and condense them back into oil.. Emmisons control
  6. Nob of the day goes to the estate car driver who I was following tonight on my bike. He closed his sunroof, then squirted his screen wash. Most of it missed his screen and went over the roof, hence the reason he closed his sunroof first. Needless to say I got a face full of screen wash... I reckon he did it on purpose too.... Nob
  7. superbike lifestyle on a pushbike budget ;)
  8. Try using the internet "way back machine" (Google it) to view old copies of websites. If you're lucky you might be able to pull up old pages from the year you passed your test.
  9. this might help; Licences issued between January 1997 and 14 October 2012 https://www.gov.uk/old-driving-licence-categories suggests that the Old A1 = New A1.

    Radiator leak!

In the old days, they used to use egg white to seal up leaks. Just crack an egg and pour in the egg white
  11. think you managed to find the ugliest looking multimeter in the world!!
  12. Question is, why did it blow??
  13. ive just checked the wiring diagram, the big plug at the front is just for the dash, so with it disconnected, the bike would still turn on, so its not that. I recon the main fuse has blown, as even with the reg/rec busted, there should still be power from the battery to the lights etc. but assuming the battery is charged, and properly connected, the fact that nothing is coming on, points to the main 30amp fuse.
  14. Yeah, theres a big plug on the left hand side about the size of an apple. Check that's not all furred up. If the red key light is not flashing and you have no fuses gone and a charged battery, its got to the a bad connection somewhere. front or back? There was a fuse in the back left. not sure how we are picking left or right but it was on my left if i was sitting on the bike. it had a leg thing snapped i removed and replaced it but with zero effect Front. As you look down the left fork you might see it. The fuse at the back, was it by its self?? Do you have an alarm fitted? Any chance the immobiliser has kicked in??
  15. New lids are tight. I have a motocross lid that gave me a headache when I first got it until it moulded to my head. Now its a nice snug fit that I can wear for hours with no problems. Never got a headache from a shoei though

  17. Does the red key flash on the dash? Or is that dead too??

    Front fork leak

I would dip my finger in and taste it. Not recommended as its poisonous, but antifreeze has a very distinctive taste

  21. LOL, maybe!! but look at first few characters of the OP's username, and the name of the site that was posted.... Spooooky coincidence!!??
  22. Try here I do wonder if this thread is an elaborate way for the spammers to get their link posted! So instead of posting the link themselves, they ask a question that results in someone else finding, and posting the link for them!!
  23. we had this before - read this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=47321&p=772546
  24. here is a scan of my old paper licence: in my case, "A" is full bike licence... no restrictions
