  1. Sounds like a good plan! Although I'm rarely organised enough to buy stuff before I need it. I normally have a mad dash, covered in oil, five mins before the shops close to buy stuff, after trying in vain for ages to makedo with what I already have.
  2. No wonder your Mrs is shouting at you! You turned the living room into a workshop!!

    Battery replacement

Yep I do too, but I bet they all use the correct purpose built charger, not some dodgy makeshift job like you are proposing to use on your bike. Also they are corectly rated and are purpose built for the job. Same can't be Said for what you are thinking of doing!! No doubt the charging circuitry alone will cost your more is parts and time than a new purpose built bike battery.

    Battery replacement

Sell the RC batteries, and buy a bike battery!! lot simpler than trying to get a bike to charge an RC battery... Also, have you see what a Lipo can do when it goes wrong?? BOOOM!!!!
  5. Seems to me someone chose a readily available, cool sounding, cheap to obtain, gas and has managed to convince the world to pay a premium for it!! Delboy selling "Peckham Spring water" jumps to mine...
  6. so in fact oxygen is less likely to leak out than nitrogen since the tripple bonded molecules are bigger.. Another nail in the nitrogen filled idea!
  7. Found a copy of "The Sun" news paper on the train, and page three had no boobies...
  8. yeah, thats why i reckon a liftable lid would be good. you could keep the container narrow and walk the bike in by reaching over the side. Once inside, shut the lid down.
  9. To spice things up a bit, why not mix in a bit of "Geocaching" (http://www.geocaching.com ) At each location hide a little waterproof container, and each person to visit can leave a little message in there.
  10. A small shed with a hinged roof would be simpler. Lift the lid to 90Degrees, open two side hinged doors, wheel the bike in between the two sides of the shed, shut the two hinged doors (where the bike rolled in), shut the lid (which overlaps the doors keeping them closed) then lock the lid down and set the alarm. Easy to build from wood, looks nicer than plastic and breathes to prevent condensation.
  11. All good tips, and its great to maximise visibility, but Get it wrong whilst you're on the wrong side of the road and you'll be in big trouble!! In fact I bet if the police saw you riding down the wrong side of the road they would pull you for a chat.. And the excuse "I saw the police doing it on YouTube" probably won't wash..
  12. You need a low profile plug wrench. I have the same problem on my KTM so spent a couple of quid on a new plug wrench that gets in there easily.
  13. Lol, was about to say that!! Easy to diagnose. Take the plug out, connect to HT lead, rest it on the top of the engine and press the starter. If you Dont see a spark, try a new plug. If the new one doesn't spark you have a fault.
  14. Dont be tempted to pull a one handed stoopie on the emergency stop test
  15. Why would you think they work any better connected to a headlight rather than directly to the battery?? Are you sure you were using the multimeter corectly to get voltage readings like those??

    Improving headlamp

Electricity likes to take the path of least resistence, so if you ran new 4mm cables back to the battery as well as the existing earth, I would think the majority of the current already flows on the 4mm wires so disconnecting the original earth will make no difference.... Unless its used by some thing else. Probably best to leave it.
  17. Just answered on the other post..
  18. tempted to upload a photo of last nights bar tab... that made me swear when i found the receipt this morning!!
  19. Everyone will love you for it too. I love the smell of 2 strokes! I put a drop of two stroke oil in my lawnmower so when mowing the lawn I get the awesome smell!
  20. The RS125 is a great little bike. Sounds to me like you have a fueling problem as they should get off the line pretty smartish even in restricted form. really it sounds like you need to address the lack of power before messing with sprocket changing.
  21. unless, the rims are a size that you cant get Road-Legal tyres for.... i doubt the tyres on most pitbikes would be legal on the road. Sounds a lot of work to me - cheaper and easier to get a Motocross bike road legal.
  22. Yep! As much protection as possible because your are going to fall off loads and it will hurt lots!! You planning on riding Motocross or enduro? That will help you decide what gear and also what bike to buy. Probably best to go do a course on off road bikes to make sure you like it before spending too much money.
  23. I buy my gear from MD Racing.. http://www.mdracingproducts.co.uk/ i rate the UFO helmets highly (wearing one in my profile pic) but all depends what kind of riding you'll be doing, what budget you have.
  24. Always skeptical about nitrogen in tyres. The air we breath consists of: Nitrogen = ~78% Oxygen = ~21% Other gasses = ~1% Size of an Nitrogen atom = 0.075pm Size of an Oxygen atom = 0.073pm So yes, Nitrogen atoms are larger than Oxygen molecules, but not by very much!! Also, Do they suck out the all the old air first or flush the tyre with nitrogen? if they dont, then there is a whole tyre full of normal air mixed in with that nitrogen - why doesn't this leak out?? its a nice gimmick though
  25. have you tried zipping them to the jacket? that will make them feel lots better.
