Tango Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 One question:If we visit a pub on the bike.....do we need to be able to ride it after....... Quote
Tango Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 you dont have to enter the pub I thought this was for fun Stu....... Another thing: are pictures from speed cameras allowed...... Quote
Sigil Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Looks harder than i thought to get them . Think ill try and pick up 2 on the way back to uni.I think I might need to get the map printed on A2 paper and pin it up, can check them of as you go and try and get them all before next yr Quote

mojobanana Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Well done to everyone who has been involved in setting this challenge up - Looks like a lot of hard work has gone in to it.Well Done guys Indeed it has, TC has done a cracking job of sorting it all out and I think the map is a minor work of art!! Karimura Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 On to be fun Shame there isnt none for east of england lol, gotta wait till I pass my mod tests to get out of essex/suffolk/norlfok, I hope you add 1 ^^ Quote
JamBerryKing Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Hmmm im trying to import the markers to a program called "tyre" http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/index.php but im struggling with it. Anyone else use it and managed it to do it?-----Edit-------Never mind i've just updated it and managed it. Silly me----Edit #2-----If your going to use this. you'll have to split it into smaller sections. as 100 way points are too much for tomtoms ----Edit #3----After fiddling with the program for a bit i've split all the points into 2 files ( which i had to, sadly) Which i can then take points out of and build myself a smaller route or a larger route, depending on how much riding i feel like doing. It seems like its going to be fiddly and annoying.. but it'll be worth it getting a smooth ride through without having to input new postcodes everytime, or having a great big list of them in a pocket Quote
Throttled Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I have this now planned like a military operation. Booked into a B&B in Dornie so on the 30th Jan I'll do Inveraray, Oban, the Commando Monument on the way there and the 31st will be Applecross and the Skye Bridge, a second night at Dornie then down to an overnight in Dollar to do Knockhill and then home via the Falkirk Wheel. I can stay at Dollar again to do Edinburgh and the Forth and Tay Bridges.Summer will be Up the A82 via the Drovers, Green Welly on the way to do Ullapool, John O'Groats and Culloden on the way back. The Borders/Dumfrieshire 5 can be knocked off in one run and some point. So that is 200 points and the bonus for doing Scotland, plus any pubs I can find. Quote

Susieque Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Rennie and I would welcome anyone who could do with a bed for the night whilst taking part in the challenge We're ideally located for a day trip into Wales. We've got 2 spare double rooms & a campervan for people to sleep in, and if there is a group of you and the weather is ok we can accommodate probably 6-8 tents in the garden! Just find our numbers in the contacts section or drop us a PM Quote
