megawatt
Kin ell that's well pi$$ed and dangerous. Pix of what's holding it on please. Tyr moving brackets around and if it won't stay where it should , add extra brackets or tie wraps!!!
dragolith
Was like that when I got it back from Honda! I'm annoyed I didn't notice earlier when I picked her up.
dragolith
I had a look and can't fingure out how to get it off. Here is another pic with a bit of rubber from a puncture kit wedged in to try force it into shape overnight.I am pissed off, the bike has been with Honda for a whole month, just collected today. I can't ride it like this tomorrow right?!
Fast Eddie
when did you get it back? I'd probably still contact them; no one does a full check every-time they get a vehicle back, even if we really should.
megawatt
Deffo don't ride it till you sort it. Find the brackets and move em around until the hugger clears the tyre or just remove the hugger, you don't have to have one !
Tankbag
Mate of mine had a sharp piece of metal stick in his hugger and it carved a thumping great ravine in his tyre
dragolith
I had a look and cant see how it is attached. I would have called but they are shut until Monday. I was looking forward to finally getting my bike sorted for riding
megawatt
TAKE IT OFF!!! ffs it's held on with metal brackets and bolts ,or tie wraps, can't you see em???
dragolith
I'm gonna give it a go shortly, but I can't see any Bolts holding it, just tie wraps in a really awkward place and I don't have any snips
eastanglianbiker
pair of scissors from indoors pair of pliers with cutting edge near handles kitchen knife lots of things will cut tie wraps
dragolith
Got it off!It safe to ride with no hugger?
Weebl
Got it off!It safe to ride with no hugger? Lots of bikes are sold without? What is the worst that could happen? Ride through a puddle and get a bit more splash than usual, the bike might get a bit dirtier? Absolutely worst case a stone might ping up and bounce off something rather than getting deflected by the hugger.
TC
My hugger on my CBR was the same angle as that.I drilled some holes in it and fitted using the screws that hold the back brake pipe in place
dragolith
Had a nice ride out without the Hugger, looks better too...

megawatt
Main use for the hugger is to protect the shock from crap thrown up by the wheel. So no probs short term.
Tankbag
Indeedee and If you don't want to use a hugger again but really want to keep crap off your shock then a shocktube will help, http://shocktube.co.uk/
Nogin
Ok, its totally W***ered if you ask me! Mine is a little distorted but that is really bad.Question... was it also part of the chain guard. If it is and you are riding with no chain guard, make sure you get one. Last thing you want is a boot, or gear dragged into the chain at high speed. dragolith
It is seperate from the guard, so no worries there. I'm glad I got it off, because that was baaad. Will look at getting a new one sometime soon.OR, a Shocktube, looks interesting...
