Tango Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Welcome to the Forum mate........maybe pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself wwhen you get a minute.... Not a bad shopping list......not sure about the glue gun.....hardly ever used mine.......definitely a power or cordless drill of some description. Feeler guages may well come in handy at some point. Hammer......a must for any aspiring mechanic..... Good luck...... Quote
Uncle Meat Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I'd also add some aspirin, brandy, soothing music and a darkened room for those really stubborn jobs... Quote
Guest Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 and whats our opinion on an impact gun and already have a huge thor like hammer thanks guys Quote
Stu Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 you cant beat a decent impact gun the are a savour at times Quote
uk190 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 impact drivers are useful too.i recommend any of halfords proffesional tools. their socket sets are particularly good when purchased at half price.if you can get a set of ball headed allen wrenches with a t-handle then you'll find these very useful on bikes.i also get lots of use from my gas powered soldering iron. Joeman Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 what bike do you have? if its a modern bike you will only need Metric sizes, so dont waste money on lots of old Imperial size spanners/sockets. Quote
klingelton Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I find myself popping down to halfrauds to buy the bits I need to do a specific job. it lessens the blow of a major purchase.that said, I do end up going to halfrauds a lot! Quote
