Noone seems to want to take charge of it and a mates dropped out as well Which means I have a week in which I planned on doing about 800 miles and may have nothing to do, so as a back up plan... Are there any biking events that anyone knows of (rallies/shows/rideouts etc) anywhere on mainland Britain between May 1-8? I could possibly stretch to 9th or 10th.Failing that I may just ride and get lost for a few days, then try and find my way back. So as general touring tips go, is it possible just to point at a place on the map and find somewhere to stay? Be it a camp site or hotel, or is it something that needs booking in advance for this time of year?Also, what better? Camping or hotels? (by better I mean cheaper, but doesn't take up too much room on the bike)I may even try and do a load of tags, or do a sea to shining sea ride, or even just get completely lost without maps, and after a week use the GPS to get home.
