So this gsf 600 I have... I'm looking at them pretty cone shaped filters k & n do also ram air?? any ideas as to how these work... I know where they go, but do you remove the air box and they replace that?? I'm a little confused. Surely if I removed the box then nothing would hold take the rear side weight of the carb and it'd all be hanging off the actual engine.

Or am I missing something .... or everything

forget it

keep the airbox and fit a K&N in that

removing the airbox screws the fuelling and its a right twat to get set back up

Unless you've got loads of time and cash to spend on dyno work and plan to do loads more mods to it I'd go with what Stu says.

K&N panel filters are pretty good - they won't really give any power gains but they work out at quite good value if you're going to keep the bike for a while.

Again a lot of what I'm doing is to make the bike look pretty.. not massively enthused by power gains etc. First big bike, done intend it to be my last or.... me be it's last if you get me.

Well, you fit it, stand back and go 'oooo that looks pretty', then you fire it up and think ' oh, it's a bit lumpy at tickover now', then you go for a ride and think 'oh, it's not pulling like it did before'. Maybe it needs a service.

Then you run it for a while, and the oil on the filter picks up dust as it should and it starts to richen up (assuming you don't strip it and clean it about once a month as it's now an exposed filter) so it goes better for a while, then it gets more dirty and it starts to run like a bag of poo as the filter gets more and more dirty, then you think, sod this, can't be bothered with the hassle and you fit the original back on and get an immediate power boost and reliability increase.

They know what they are on about those Japanese guys!

Look pretty?

Shouldn't have got a bandit then.

As stu says, stay away from the airbox, hundreds of threads on the bandit forum of people who've tried and f**ked up the fuelling.

Spend your money on a set of weighted fork springs, and the rear shock off a 2004 cbr600rr, both will bolt in in a matter of hours and transform the bike, it will still look the same, but it will handle better on a B road.

Erm.....I believe it's a bit of a piss take.....not of you, but another member whose use of caps lock has not gone unnoticed......

Were you thinking of where to post positive feedback on here or somewhere else? If you're thinking on here, then start a praise thread...... 8-)

Yeah, sorry skiffer - that wasn't aimed at you - we have a serial yeller somewhere on the forum. :-)

It's always good to get a recommendation so please sing their praises!

No apologies necessary. Delkevik, exhaust people. Well the Facebook person at least is awesome. No fuss replacement of part I destroyed by mistake.

DID YOU KNOW IF YOU PRESS AND HOLD THE NUMLOCK KEY FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS it makes a nice little up beep for CAPS ON AND A LITTLE DOWN BEEP for caps off, dead useful if you don't want to yell inadvertently. ( doesn't work on most laptops )

Soz, off topic Skiffer save your money if you want more power get a 1200.
