Phooey
Swopping out the rear wheel bearings today and noticed that the cushdrive rubbers are quite loose in the casing. How loose is too loose? Is there a 'test' I could do?
Tango
The rear sprocket shouldn't move relative to the wheel.......if it can rotate slightly within the rear wheel you probably need new cush drive rubbers.....
Phooey
Thanks Tango ... New cushdrive required then
megawatt
I shimmed my Fireblade ones with some 1mm thick aluminium. Never had a problem since and done 5 trackdays.
Phooey
I could pack it out to take up the slack. Even if only temporary.

GazW
Kawasaki ones are notoriously slack from standard. If you look on the sprocket carrier, there will be 5 lugs that knit into the rubbers when it all fits together. Slip an old bit of innertube over them.Edit;http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/08/460fdad3a69d515c350439417075fd96.jpgThem bits, generic photo,
Stu
yup the old inner tube trick works too
megawatt
Or alloy shims over the webs in the wheel.
Phooey
Packed it out with bits of plastic for time being. Kawasaki has to place an order, two weeks wait.I've seen a couple of s/hand one on fleabay for £12 but I hate taking the chance that they are just as bad, if not worse than my one!Still, seems to have sorted it for a a couple of weeks. Bike all back together again Can't believe what I've managed to achieve in the past few weeks ... and to think I can barely change a light bulb without a detailed instruction manual! lol
