Glorian Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 If it's any consolation, my BMW is made in Italy with an Austrian engine. Funny how everything except the engine goes wrong all the time, isn't it? I have a genuine interest in blowing up some of the Chinese stuff that shows up at Motorcycle Live; having been stung once I'd be unlikely to risk it again, but I find WK to be very interesting. They seem to be doing a pretty good job, all in all - I know that Fred has had an entirely positive experience so far. The WK Trail 400 looks like it could be a really quite nice bike if you swapped out the Chinese rubber, the adventure class could really do with more lightweight 400s.Of course, if KTM can bring out an Adventure 390 then I'm sold OI!!WE'LL HAVE NONE OF THAT NOW Quote
Arwen Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Looks like I wont be going to this any more Cannot get time off work. But it is probably for the best since I've just spent a load of money getting my car through it's mot... I just wanna see the 2016 models and any daft concepts that are flying around! You never know, might be something interesting Daft concept you want is it? Here are two that I know of already!http://i0.wp.com/www.hondaprokevin.com/pictures/grom-scrambler-concept-two/2016-honda-grom-50-scrambler-motorcycle-bike-msx-.jpg?resize=848%2C911Source:- http://www.hondaprokevin.com/2016-honda ... -pictures/ I fancy going to this might make a day of it at the weekend.....gotta go look at those lovely cheese bikes and the brilliant taiwan built bikes.have just found out that my new cb500F a jap bike is actually built in taiwan.... holy discombobulation batman. My MSX is built in taiwan as well. Seems to be ok so far though! Quote
soll Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I have 2 tickets for this, one of them might be going spare, wont know until nearer the time....ill probably go first weekend, as i have the time off already Quote
RantMachine Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 HOLY POOPhttp://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/hondas-crf250-rally-is-heading-for-production/28408.htmlFingers crossed there will be one of those at Motorcycle Live! soll Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 the 250cc-300cc market is big in us/aus and asia, its just small in this country.. but its growing.my bikes in having its first service and they have loaned me a cbr250r and tbh its light, agile and quick enough....would i swap it for my 500... doubtfull as the noise is all wrong but then its only a single not a twin Quote
NeilM Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 We are booking for the first Sunday. So if you see 2 blokes tearing their hair out as 3 kids have just scratched a panigale, there's a good chance it's us!!Daughter actually fell off a fireblade at the Manchester show a couple of years back. God only knows how she did it...lol Quote

soll Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 theres a brave new world waiting for you Rant Quote
Hoggs Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I won't be making it this year so can people take pictures of any lovely new green bikes for me? *rubs thighs* Quote
RantMachine Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 theres a brave new world waiting for you Rant Yeah, it's called "Buying a DR-BIG on eBay when the BMW finally dies" Quote
onesea Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Looks like I am going the first Monday and maybe Tuesday (I have not been before is it worth 2 days?). I am going whilst misses is at work as her and daughter will not appreciate and will only want to leave after 5 minutes...Like Cam looking at boots as mine seem to hold more water in than out.... Gin Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Me and Jay are in Birmingham this weekend anyway so I think we're hoping to make it, maybe this Sunday..Might treat myself to a new back protector! Quote
RantMachine Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Still not heard anything from the guy I was getting a lift from. Bugger. Quote
Gin Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Rant, can you get trains anywhere nearish? We could pick you up from somewhere as we're likely going in a car together this year.. Quote
RantMachine Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Might give it a go, although I anticipate god awful rail prices Although I guess my main alternative is to set off at the crack of dawn and ride up on my CG Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 its not the ride up there thats the problem ollie its getting all the gear you buy on the bike to get it home again you better fit the panniers off the bmw onto the cg if you take that and then allow an extra day for travelling due to the extra weight Quote
RantMachine Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I could probably FedEx everything back to my house and it'd still be cheaper than the train! Quote
onesea Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I could probably FedEx everything back to my house and it'd still be cheaper than the train! I was looking at riding up but decided 3 hours up and 3 hours down and the show is a bit much and it will riding in the dark and no fun Motorway and A34.... So Plan B was required....A little bit of thinking says train form Bicester to NEC is £20 and I have somewhere to stay in Bicester So I can go to the show and have a beer as well It was cheaper to take the Landy from here than the train and thats for just one of me... Quote
Glorian Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 After last years excel show i prob wont bother with NEC or Excel Found it full of mostly crap cheap clothing and people making "Brrrrrrm" noises while sitting on bikes. Quote
Gin Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 After last years excel show i prob wont bother with NEC or Excel Found it full of mostly crap cheap clothing and people making "Brrrrrrm" noises while sitting on bikes. There is nothing wrong with pretending to feel the wind in your hair, the revs of the engine and starling the people around you as you howl "Nuuurrr... Nurrrrr... Nuurrr..." Changing through metaphorical gears! If anyone comes Sunday and see's a 5ft3 (On a good day) ginger lass on a bike, making a spectacle of 'riding'.. Come say hello Quote
RantMachine Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 people making "Brrrrrrm" noises while sitting on bikes....Isn't that why everyone goes? Quote
