Trying to sort out holidays for next year and make sure to book all the priorities before we see how much we've got left and how much else we can do.

We got any dates for the rally yet?

Posted
Yeah, I need to start carefully planning 2016 so that the BMW's one hour of working properly falls on the same week as the rally

Fixed your typo.

I haven't even got a venue yet never mind a date!

I'm thinking June time again at the minute though

But I am really struggling to find a suitable venue and I don't want to do the lower lode again

I have found one place but it's expensive!!

At least I made it there the last two years, you cheeky git

Haha not my fault i was crippled by a chinese bike first year and chilling in the sun (its a hard life) the second :D

I'm going away mid june so hopefully the rally won't land on the same week :D :D

One of the issues around the Lower Lode is the lack of non - camping accommodation there.......and the scarcity of taxis to take folks back to the few hotels in the area at the end of the evening........along with a few other issues.

So, if anyone knows of a suitable venue that is fairly central in the country please let us know. We've been scouring the Internet for suitable places, but nothing has ticked all the boxes yet.

The Lower Load is too far south for me. I went two years ago because I was already in the area on holiday. I did not go to the last one because of the distance to do in a weekend. Further north please

The one in Dent is walkable to the village and the George and Dragon in Dent has accommodation and a function room

Worth a thought?

Hard pressed to beat the regular venue IMO.

Easy to organise a minibus to/from the hotels for those not camping.

What's Squires like for camping?

I guess there isn't a lot of non camping accommodation around there though.

There's also this one in the dales

squires is pretty shite for meetings like this and it gets way too busy for my liking!

I will check that other place out though :thumb:

any more suggestions welcome :)

There is a camping site in Godmanchester adjacent to the Black Bull (recently refurbished) that also has a 'private' function room.
