Square Tyres!

My rear tyre on my zzr1400 looked a little low on tread in the centre (a bit square!), so just checked em with a digi tyre depth thingy. Looks like I have around 1.5mm in the centre, and around 2.3 at the sides! (I need to find some corners quickly and go scratching to round em off me thinks!)

I also have a training course in city of London in a weeks time, so going to be commuting for a week on the bike from Cambridge, anyone know what m/b parking is like in London?

So should I just replace the tyre, not sure what mileage I'll get for the .5mm left before they become illegal anyway.

So was looking for some advice on what tyres are a good replacement.

Get a train..

Working in London, I wouldn't leave any of my possessions unattended.

Agreed! Train from Cambridge to kings cross is quick and easy, always got a seat too.

Ok, ok, I'll find out if the training centre has secure parking otherwise I'll train it!

Anyway, so what do you recon on the tyres, I was thinking of Bridgestone BT 023, or are there cheaper alternatives that are just as good?

I'd pick anything Michelin over Bridgestone. Michelin site does tyre recommendations based on your vehicle too if you want an understanding of them better :)

Ok, so let's say I go with the mitz PR4 tyre, at the moment my front is ok, it's a bridgstone, do you think there would be any issues if I just bought the mitz for the rear leaving the BT on the front (how would it effect handling?) or should I replace as a pair?

personally i think any tyre thats round has got to be better than one that square must be a bugger to ride on it :booty:

O

Lol! Of course their still round! Just the tread getting a little low in the middle
