Valko Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Do you mean your google activity search history? https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity?hl=en-GB" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; That is designed to help you. So that you can see results relevant to you and your previous searches on all your devices like phones, different laptops etc.If you are concerned about government tracking everybody you probably has lived in a cave the last 10 years. I have a bad news for you. They do. The UK is the worst spying foc off privacy country on earth ever. The only way you can prevent that is to burn all your electric devices, dig a hole and hide there. Problem solved Quote

Westbeef Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 The UK is the one of the worst for tracking people, there was an Edward Snowden documentary where he says a lot of about what is going on with this sort of stuff (The guy who leaked a lot of classified documents). He basically says everyone's being monitored, your laptop can be accessed and view you through the webcam, they can follow your movements via your phone, all sorts of stuff. I've linked the documentary info below, it's very interesting to watch if you can get hold of it somehow.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4044364/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Quote
nicklucey Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Have a read of googles privacy policy. That will tell you exactly what they do. Quote
Joeman Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Tracking allows Google and other advertisers to better target users with adverts.People don't like adverts, but adverts produce the revenue that keeps the internet free to use.Pretty sure most would rather see a few adverts than have to pay to access the internet. Guest Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 There are adverts on the Interweb? Very odd. It's a shame I don't see them. There are some wonderful adblock programs our there. I do find ir means some streaming sites get the arse with you and won't work Sent from my E5603 using Tapatalk Quote
johnakay Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 to be truthful I dont give a f*ck if the gov etc is watching me.I've got nothing to hide .I generally see this stop tracking on facebook.I'm on there to keep in touch with some of my deaf friends and every now and then this pops up.anyway thanks Quote
Stu Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I have never seen the stop tracking bit on Facebook! But I find it pretty useful when in strange cities and you want to know whats about you can easily search whats nearby from google on your phone Websites have been tracking people for years thats what cookies are for but not in the way of where you are in the world at any given time! Grumpy Old Git Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Wrap your 'smart phone' in tin foil and place in a bucket full of water - 'They' will not be able to track you then (oh, and don't forget to wear a woolly hat that covers your eyes, nose and ears -so no satellite recognition either).NB. Apply the same technique to 'smart' watches, tablets, PCs, etc. etc. etc. Quote
