Throttled Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I have updated the group score, any errors please PM me, ta!
Throttled Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 The Happy Haggis tag in kingussie is now called Haddock Bay. I have tagged it.
Throttled Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Now camping at Poolewe near to the tag there. Two tags tomorrow and the final three north of Scotland the day after. I think north of Scotland tags should count double! It has taken four nights camping to do them all.
Grumpy Old Git Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 You need to ride faster and further. Try the SW Tags, that took me 1 more day than I planned (mainly due to traffic) - 5 days in total .
Stocky Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 I think north of Scotland tags should count double! Good idea (says the person who's going to Scotland on holiday in August)
Grumpy Old Git Posted May 9, 2017 Author Posted May 9, 2017 According to Tyre - You can do all the Tags in Scotland in less than 14 hours!
Throttled Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 According to Tyre - You can do all the Tags in Scotland in less than 14 hours! I presume that is a mapping route finder thing. Which thinks you can do single tracked roads at the national speed limit.
Mawsley Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Whoever came up with this and chose the locations, you're a star.Without doing the tags I'd never have ridden the roads across Exmoor and then down the length of the A39. What a stunningly wonderful day's riding. OK, the M5 was hell but it was a means to an end to get five solid hours flying around Devon and Cornwall in the sun.One very happy Mawsley

Stu Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I have a 170 mile ride planned for tomorrow just for one tag hopefully on good roads
JRH Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 Nice 230 mile run to take in Cadwell park and On Your Marques.Great roads between the two.Had a look in the museum at on your Marques and had coffe and cake.
donald463 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 481 miles in a day, but tagged 5 and finished a region for a bonus.Hope weather holds out got more trips planned.
Grumpy Old Git Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 Well done but - You need to put your 'Tag' score in your profile.
Grumpy Old Git Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 Parking your bike at the following is 'difficult':International Slavery Museum - Nearest is the Bus Centre car park (if there is no event on, you can get down to one of the hotels in the dock area).Sanquhar Post Office - About 50 yds past (double yellows)Scotland Street - Across the roadTweedale Museum - Again, across the road (busy with parked cars) - The museum door is through the archway and immediate right.NB. The A713 is my new favourite 'twisty'.
Throttled Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 That is now twice I have failed to get the Portpatrick tag, this time abandoning because of the rain. That was miserable.
Grumpy Old Git Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 I though you Scots were 'real men'!
Throttled Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I though you Scots were 'real men'! But when it goes monsoon, safety takes over.
Throttled Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 GOG, why Patna Chippy as a tag? It is a god forsaken dump in the tattiest row of shops in a not very pretty village. Now I know why the road goes past the village, not though it.
Grumpy Old Git Posted September 27, 2017 Author Posted September 27, 2017 Because - The road to/from the nearest tag to it is quite decent and.... Believe it or not... It is a local 'Mecca' for late evening get together's (fights).
