Painting chrome

I'm in the process of doing up my GN125, it's rather sad and rusty. Most of the parts are easily available, and cheap. The exception is the chain guard, which is difficult to find. My thinking is to remove it and rub it down, apply rust cure then etch primer. I'm thinking of a matt black final coat.

Any advice on the best black paint to use? Cheers.

people have been using 'smoothrite' for years on bike parts that don't get excessively hot.. for years and with little complaint.

Smoothrite is very good and so is PJ1 who do gloss , matt and satin black if I recall.
