Zx6r j1 ticking/tapping noise

Hello

I have noticed a ticking /tapping noise while revving the bike when it's hot 85.c upwards

It sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine, sounds bad while riding but while the bike runs at 70.c it usual riding temp there is no noise

The bike starts fine while hot ( if I'm right that means the tappets ok ? )

I'm just a bit puzzled

It didn't get hot enough this morning will try again tonight and oil and filter got changed about 500 miles ago

Just wondered as some oils dont deal with summer temperatures well

Ah ok I used the silkolene super 4 10w-40

The sound in the first 5-6 seconds?

Almost sounds like you've got a misfire on a cylinder. What's it like power-wise when it happens?

that sounds like either the shims need looking at or the cam chain tensioner isnt auto adjusting

Power seems alright when it's Hot I haven't noticed much of a difference but I do tend to ride in high gears and lower revs when it gets 85'c trying to keep it cool and shims + cam chain was what I was worried about
