ken_a Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Hi folks I'm a newbie to the 2 wheel World. I've done my cbt and bought a cheap Honda cg125 to practice on. Only problem is it seems to be a complete heap of scrap.On the ride home after buying it the rear wheel started wobbling. I rented a trailer and took it home the next day. When I took the rear wheel of I found a bearing in bits and the hub sheared! So I bought a used wheel off ebay. Now today when fitting it I had to 'persuade' the drum on to get the spacers to fit. This unfortunately means the wheel won't budge! So have I done something wrong? From sprocket side I have small spacer, sprocket, wheel, brake drum, larger spacer and then fixing nut.As I say to get the spacers in I had to give the drum a thump and this binds the drum to the hub. The replacement wheel looks to be the same as the old?Anyhow, bikes not moving, I'm not learning the only good thing about it is the chain and sprocket have been cleaned after I found half an inch of crap on the front sprocket cover...... Stu Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 looks like the stay for the hub is either moving or the bolt is loose It should fasten to the swingarm somewhere and to the bottom of the hub and when its tightened up it should be solid Quote

fastbob Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Stu is right, if the brake IS stuck that's one thing BUT there shouldn't be any movement of the hub either. Let me dig out my CG manual and have a think about it tomorrow .Might need some more pictures including some with the thing apart again. Quote

fastbob Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 When you say forced the hub on do you mean that it wouldn't fit on the spindle ( axle ) or that it wouldn't go into the drum ? Can you take the wheel out and do a side by side comparison picture of both hubs ? The aforementioned spacer goes in-between the two bearings to even out the force applied by the spindle nut . Leaving it out would not be good for the bearings but it wouldn't cause the hub not to turn . I'm beginning to suspect that this isn't the right hub . Remember that CGs have been in production since 1976 in many different countries and im not including the millions of chinese rip offs. Have a look at this picture, the only part of this hub ( brake plate ) that should be touching anything is the bit I have highlighted. This should be resting on the inner , moving , part of the right hand bearing and when out of the bike the hub should spin freely in this position . Quote
