Moonraker Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Howdy, and no, not that fiddling. The attached pictures show a transformer cover that I'm trying to open (so I can replace the transformer) but I'm struggling with what feels like such a simple task that I'm becoming annoyed. The screw holds a small section that covers the wiring in to the bigger section so I don't need that.Where I'm having trouble is finding the 'knack' as to how I open that larger part, which I'm assuming is done by the four little 'clips. You may observe where I've used a own life and its gadgets to release these clips, but I can't figure it out. What's the secret, please? With thanks Quote
raesewell Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Whenever I come across problems like this, as I did with a Gtech vacuum and a dremmel recentley, Youtube is my first port of call and I've had success on both occasions. Quote
Guest Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 My guess would be you have to push on the 4 indented area which clip in. Have had something similar and it was total bugger to get off. Quote

Im really hoping not all at the same time.I've pushed each clip directly towards the case, and pushed them both up and down.Im losing my marbles I'm sure. Quote
Moonraker Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 Oh well it was worth a shot I probably should have mentioned that I tried it first though Quote
Moonraker Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 I feel stupid but brute force and a penknife solved it.And thank you Quote
Fozzie Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I hate these sort of things. They're cheap but effective. At the cost they're a pain in the arse to remove. Brute force is usually always the way with them. Quote
Tiggie Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 On a side note I am sure I saw your post title on the cover of a video on the top shelf of blockbusters back in the day Quote
