They're not to stop you getting to them but to stop them sliding about. The biscuit chastity belt is to stop you getting to them Quote
raesewell Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 That would be cable ties to the English amongst us I'm English and proud of it and I , along with everyone else who has made a useful contribution to this thread , will call them whatever I choose to call them thank you very much.It is your absolute right to say what you want, we seem to be adopting more and more Americanisms, there have been references recently to "parking lots" instead of car parks. What next? Celebrate 4th of July and Thanksgiving? I also am English and proud of it and I try to use "English" terminology and not Americanisms. Quote

Muttly Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Any time you are trying to make yourself look or feel good at the expense of someone else you look a wally.this includes correcting people or otherwise belittleing. I think anyway. Quote

raesewell Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 My point was that we are slowly losing our identity to the Americans and we don't need to adopt their sayings we have a perfectly good language of our own. It wasn't a correction, it was an observation. Quote

raesewell Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 I normally look for a location to see where the posers are from. I feel the need, not to police it but to protect the identity of our nation. It has to start somewhere. It seems the Americans stole our language, messed it up and they are now trying to send it back to us as English. It's probably the result of watching an enormous amount of American television programs. Quote
Stu Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Location doesn't define where they are from! Look at RantMachine's location!!Wrong place to be doing it! We are a bunch of bikers out for a good time not to be criticised on spelling grammar and use of terms Quote

Oh the horror , next thing you know they'll be opening hamburger joints all over the place and listening to Rock 'n Roll music . Now I'm definitely getting a Harley, yeeee haa ! Quote

If you want to raise this kind of issue there are plenty of alternative websites and forums you could use without having to tag on the end of a thread about a damaged fairing . You really don't do yourself any favours with these pointless little digs . Quote
