Mosesaged3 Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Hi guys, I hope you can help me with this. I have a Chinese 125 with this strange air box/filter at the front of the engine. It has a hose tucked under the tank open to the air, this leads to abig black cylindrical tub that houses an air filter, then past the filter it goes to a metal hose and then into the engine. There is a small hose also running down the frame and into the carb.Does anyone know what this is? What it does? Thanks in advance! Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Tricky to say from the description but it sounds like some form of hydrocarbon trap. Petrol evaporations are meant to be prevented from reaching the atmosphere. Quote
fastbob Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Hello, at the very least you could help by telling us what bike it is and a photograph would be very helpful too . It's bound to be some wonderful device for saving the planet . If you don't like it , blank it off and chuck it away . I doubt its going to be missed by an MOT inspector. Quote
