Helo, sorry if i did not create this topic in the right place, i found it hard to browse through the forum most likely because of the internet connection.

So, my girlfriends bike ( Yamaha Virago 535 y.1990) started to run really poor since like a week ago. Most of the time it starts ok but after a few minutes it starts to lose power and cough. The air filter and plugs have been changed recently.

I will attach a link with the video of the problem, maybe someone has a better idea of whats going on...

Build Quality & Reliability 4 out of 5

Both mechanically and cosmetically, the Yamaha XV535 Virago is a highly regarded motorcycle and has the longevity of successful sales figures to prove it. Gripes are rare but include carb icing and corroding regulator/rectifiers but, on the whole, the Yamaha XV535 Virago is a solid motorcycle to buy. But keep that exposed V-twin and all that chrome in good nick to maintain value.

Bobul I can't help u I'm afraid but I hope you get it sorted. I loved the viragos only had a 25o myself but they were solid and great quality. The 535 was the best in my opinion!

Are the plug caps on properly? Are the new plugs tightened all the way in? Is there any evidence of arcing around the plugs?

If it starts , conks out and then starts again , I reckon that would point towards fuel supply . On the plus side , 535,s seem to be fetching very good prices these days . I saw one in well looked after condition in a dealership for £3,500 . I thought it might be a mistake so I asked about it and the salesman told me that is a typical price for such a bike .
