Harry Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Hi all. The 10/40 engine oil recommended for my bike is 'semi synthetic'. Okay that's straight forward enough, not 'fully synthetic' then. BUT, the bottle I'm looking at is 'part synthetic.' Would the part synthetic be the equivalent of the semi or are they 2 different things? and I should definitely stick to semi ? Quote
skyrider Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I reckon that there is too many different types of oil and people are going to come unstuck Quote
Stu Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I reckon that there is too many different types of oil and people are going to come unstuck Nah its just marketing and making people buy the "expensive" stuff as they don't know what they are buying Quote

Harry Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 Thanks all. I thought the 'part synthetic' blurb was on the bottle but there wasn't anything to suggest what it was. I looked at their website and read that it was 'part synthetic.' I wanted to clarify things as since the oil change I thought the bike was running a little different. Including a little bit of what I would call surging/bucking around the 4000 range while cruising. I'm looking into other possible causes at the moment after changing the plugs and air filter the same time as the oil. Quote
