I can see the benefits of doing some light service work but I would imagine there are some stuff that you should leave to the professionals right?

BMW make it as difficult as possible for you to do your own servicing, you can buy a GS 911 to perform a lot of tasks, but the bike still needs to be connected to the BMW mothership for certain tasks.

great and there i was thinking of obtaining an f650gs

I had an F 650 as a loan bike once, it was like riding a Kango road drill.

is that something to do with the suspension

I think it was mainly to do with it being a single cylinder bike.

Yeh defo. The big stuff i’ll Leave to the dealer but when you read the standard annual service and see what the cheeky f**kers want to charge for it, it comes in handy.
