Guest Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 The fens might also meet your needs of loose women. Quote
Ian Frog Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Just a thought for your journey up.Are you coming all the way up the A34 to Bicester and then across to MK?If so you might like a little detour up the back lanes by Stowe school that pop out in the front of Silverstone just to get that long dual carriageway plod out of your system. At Bicester look for the station and follow that road to Finmere bypass (A4421) let me know if you spot the topiary Peppa pig and the thatch duck family on the cottage ridge lol.Left at the roundabout after Buckingham golf club and look for Stowe then turn right into what looks like the driveway (if you read bike magazines this is often featured in photo shoots).Hope you have fun what ever you decide to do.CheersIan Quote
onesea Posted July 7, 2020 Author Posted July 7, 2020 Thanks for the input, some areas from Milton Keynes to home and Chichester to home I hadn't really planned as they are areas I ride regularly.Within a day of home so kind of business runs. IE get the miles done so I have time to explore new roads.Great Yarmouth I may or may not by pass for memories sake.Loose women are no longer on the agenda as I have riding buddy or witness . Quote

Guest Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Did you find a campsite? There is one here on Banham next to the zoo, no idea what it is like though. Quote
onesea Posted July 7, 2020 Author Posted July 7, 2020 A FB group have some ideas, not booking till Thursday Friday just incase forecast changes. Then I can move roads to better weather Also member of C&C club that might help. But not always bike friendly they don't understand gravel tracks and slippery grass causes problems. Quote
onesea Posted July 10, 2020 Author Posted July 10, 2020 OK Time for a confession thanks for all the great advice, it has been appreciated.Norfolk is still on the agenda, but 2 hour delay in departure meant Motorway or late night arrival then shopping etc.So Norfolk is on hold - so I drew a 3 hour circle on the map.Wales being shut other choices where South downs or South of Birmingham somewhere.... I am now going to Somerset. Near Exmoor.Roughly like this but probably with detours I wander from roads I have travelled before... Quote
onesea Posted July 16, 2020 Author Posted July 16, 2020 Safely returned 500 miles Dorset, Devon, Somerset & Cornwall, including Exmoor and Dartmoor. Not counting Hampshire my home country. Not a bad 3 day explore, did not stop raining the first night. A little damp and chilly the second day particularly on the moors but all good...Thanks for all the ignored and followed advice. Quote
Snod Blatter Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Surely you should've had some vodka to go with those Russian crisps??Anyway, is Exmoor still a race track? Quote
Mr Fro Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Now can you tell me about the women or should I pitch my tent in Essex Seriously suggestions on place or areas to stop. Thinking 2 nights 1 campsite would be good... You want Newmarket mate, it's heaving with not-too-picky clunge. Especially if you go to Heaven "gentlemen's club"...Thetford is good for camping if you're up that way. Quote
