I quite like the look of them but if I were to take one on as a project it would have to be stupidly cheap .Even then it could turn into a money pit .

do you reckon throw them a curve :?:

I've no idea why you asked the question . Have you been offered one or found one in a shed or something ? If you are after a mid range utility bike most people will have already guessed what I will say . Get an ER5 ! There are decent ones going for as little as £ 600 - £800 at the moment .

Typical Honda build quality, I wanted to use one for a cafe build and did a test ride on one.

Seemed solid, felt a bit slow for the power and the gearbox was clunky and filled with false neutrals but wasn't a bad bike.

Whats got you wanting one?

Am I right in thinking that an NTV 650 is actually a naked version of the NT650V or Deauville ?

Other way around .. Deauville was based on the NTV650.

i have seen a 96 model for sale for £ 650 in good condition but i have heard that they are on the heavy side and the gearboxes are like they came out of early tractors so i think i will continue my search for something lighter, what do you think of the er5 weight wise Bob i have read that they are a bit heavier than the cb5 :?:
