Good afternoon! Or is it evening now the nights are drawing in?

Just finished work, and got packing to do. Decluttering the flat as we are rapidly approaching the date we get it on the market. I feel ready to get into a house, but equally, I feel it's going to be very costly. My area saw 3-4 bed properties rise by 4 times the average wage in 5 years, peaking back in 2022. The flat I'm in saw a good rise, but nowhere near the rate of the houses.

I was hoping the post covid bubble pop would put a bigger dent in the market than it has.

Ended up nice and warm with the cycling bits so going to take a little extra time to choose my approach

Good idea, and impressive self control.

Good evening.

Beginning to wonder if I should have a bike anymore. When I’ve not been injured I’ve been ill, and when I’ve been neither of them I’ve been operated on. This has been the most pathetic year for riding. Bar the run to the pub with the long name and the other day out with a number sheet, I doubt I’ve covered more than 100 miles.

Developed an awful hernia last Saturday. Back to hospital - and now banned from riding for another 6-8 weeks.

I'm a bit grumpy about it all tbh.

@MawsleyThat's grim.

The missus is like this. Every year some new injury or illness. One year it was shingles. Then a bad achilles and she couldn't walk. Last year she had pneumonia. Twice. This year bad shoulder, bad neck and bad back all rolled into one. You could see the pain on her face. It gets her down.

Having missed my flu/covid jabs last Saturday due to a bad cold (caught on very wet trip to Derby for work last week, but very beautiful) having read nobody is taking these up, I decided to try the many walk in clinics local to me, big signs on doors, no appointment necessary, just walk in, tried 3, all said you have to book online, seems the walk in bit was only applicable if someone didn't turn up, confusing, so I booked online once home, the flu jab questionnaire took ages, wanting total medical history, lifestyle etc, for the covid jab, only needed time and date, wasn't sure if I should be happy or concerned at the latter, will be upto date later this week

We're struggling to book our flu jabs, there are barely any places local to us that do them, and those never seem to have appointments .

I had my Covid jab on Wednesday and the flu is booked for the 23rd. I got email invitations for both. The Flu is at my doctor’s surgery while the Covid was at a pharmacy just up the road. I could have had them both at the same time - but elected to have them spread apart. I get 2 Covid jabs per year. I had one back in march.
