bonio Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 I've heated grips on the DRZ, but no relay, and I thought now would be a good time to fix it. I've bought the relay, I reckon I understand how to wire it in. But... what's the best way of splicing into a switched live? Is there a waterproof splicer thingy I can get on ebay? Or do I just cut the cable, solder the three wires together and make good with heat shrink? Ta Quote
Tiggie Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 I'd do it the way you described and solder. There probably is a little magic box of some description but the way you described is the tried and tested way Quote
Bender Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 As you said should be fine, just try pick a splice point where cable is reasonably protected Quote
Stu Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 @raesewell will recommend positaps as he has used them before with success Whatever you do do not use scotch locks! But ultimately it depends what you're tapping in to too I uses part of the wiring for the electric screen on my bike its a plug in loop so I just cut the loop bared the wires and soldered them all together and heat shrink the lot Quote
bonio Posted March 6, 2021 Author Posted March 6, 2021 Ta all. Going to have a poke around and see what's available in the way of switched lives. Not today tho. Freakin cold in the garage. Quote
