Suddenly Security becomes important 😱

Recommended Posts

Living where I do I cannot say we live without crime, every few years some one gets killed.  There are the usual vans going round stealing scrap metal, tools out of vans, the odd bit of mindless vandalism, a few bits of drugs nothing untoward.

Probably allot less than other areas, motorbikes tend to be stolen to order. Some specialist race bikes got nicked last year.

Then yesterday a few miles away a nice bike gets nicked, then is seen being ragged round a local industrial estate….  I was on that estate twice tonight.

Might not be riding bike to work to leave it on a neighbouring industrial estate for a whilst….

The shits…

You suddenly become aware of how the antisocial actions of other people limits your own life. It happened when we lived in area where the local villians didn't bother breaking in through windows or doors they just sledgehammered through the walls. All the shops has quarter inch thick steel plating covering the walls. A mate of mine ran a Fiat Panda and never locked the doors - it was easier to let them open the door, see there was nothing inside worth nicking, and clear off. Saved replacing locks and windows. They never stole the car because there was no street cred being caught joy-riding in a Panda.

A copper I knew bagged a whole gang of joy riders when he caught one of them driving a stolen Datsun Cherry. The kid wouldn't spill the beans until the copper told him he'd let it be known he was nicked driving a Datsun Cherry - at which point he blabbed.
