Hello fellow bikers,

I recently bought a 125cc. On way home the throttle cable snapped.

I have replaced that and cleaned out the fuel tank as it was full of gunk.

The bike starts up ok, However just before it finds the rev for ticking over theres a click sound and it cuts out.

Noticed the oil is low. Plan on topping this up but is there any other reason the bike cuts out?

It was running fine before the cable snapped.

Any input would be appreciated

What bike is it? If it's not idling then it could be the idle adjustment is out. When replacing the throttle cable did you do anything that might have affected the idle screw?

Hello Bullfrog,

Thanks for the reply. As im new to bikes i dont know where the idle screw is located buddy.

I had a mechanic help me fit the throttle cable, and get both cables to move at same time. Im pretty sure he would have done this correctly. Although i am confused with the fuel tank..... I have two hoses. One direct into the tank, the other has a fuel lever. Do you know which direction it should face? The valve has fuel written on it with arrow going both left and right? lol This is for reserve fuel and should be at the off position?

In the middle is correct?

My enquiries indicate that this bike is a four stroke and not a two stroke .
