Visors

How often do you replace yours?

Having just bought the new lid I was astonished at just how much clearer the visor is. I did a quick visual comparison with my old one. The old one, despite being cared for and cleaned regularly, is significantly scratched - not large scratches but many, many micro scratches. I have previously replaced  my visor after a couple of years but with not riding much during the pandemic I didn’t see any point.

It varies with use and helmets. I have had a couple of Caberg Duke / Duke 2 and the visors on them seem to last for ages without losing clarity. That's despite me using them for work on roads covered in mud and grit. I have a Schuberth and the visor seems more prone to loss of clarity even though it's only used on days when the weather is good and we're off for a jolly.

As a long time wearer of glasses I am particularly careful how I clean my visors as I hate microscratches that show up in lenses and visors.
