I have managed to arrange some training for forum members (with a lot of help from Hoody).

Sunday September 7th - Police Training Centre - Hall Road, Hull

The training will cover some classroom work followed by some practical hands on work (helmet removal, making scene safe etc)

Hopefully, we will have a RoSPA representative to come along and give out information too (more details to follow).

Am looking at a 10am start... possibly 1/2pm finish and a small rideout to end the day.

Training like this is usually in the region of £50/60 but have managed to sort it out for FREE!! A small charge may be made for first aid kits, if we cannot get them donated.

As places are limited to 30, I would ask that you put your name down ONLY if you can definately attend. I have put an option up that you can choose if you're interestedl, but the date doesnt suit...that way we can see if we have enough members to hold another event at a later date.

Camping is available at mine for the night of Sat 6th and Sun 7th if needed. Please let me know.

If only getting sat nav was that easy. I have to 'smuggle' in a pair of alpinestars boots I just bought without letting on to my wife how much they were.

But I think you're right Stu, getting to Hull is the easy bit. Getting to the right bit of Hull is the problem.

  • 2 weeks later...

I already have an FBoS certificate...... sadly I have had to use the skills twice already.

For any one thinking of doing the course.... go for it. Knowing what to do and how to help someone in an emergency is important and stops all that dithering about doing the right thing.

I hope you have a fab turn out!
