Ah OK, yeah that makes sense...Well you seem to have more knowledge than me so i'll take your advice and look into doing this... I just hope I don't damage the nice new paintwork! :)

Honestly I don't 🤣. The fork oil can be done without taking too much apart. It depends a but on the servicing history and mileage of the bike I guess. If you know at some point it's probably been done. The sv I had, there was no indication in the paperwork it had ever been done and I wanted to try a different weight oil in it anyway. Plenty of good youtube videos on how to do it.

Horn has already been reattached as shown below, no new parts used just fully cleaned, stripped and painted and cleaned/polished the bolts, nuts and washers.

From here I literally used all of my images, a couple of online blueprints and common sense to rebuild the bike basically doing everything in reverse...

 

So first off I started with the ignition assembly:

The satisfaction of finally being able to put parts back on instead of taking them off was unbelievable - bearing in mind at this stage it had been around 7 months since I first started this project!

 

All plastic/non-metal parts cleaned, repaired and ready for re-install:

Pre-fitting engine bolts, I did this to make sure I had all the right nuts/bolts/parts prior to fully fitting/tightening anything - parts lists/diagrams for all separate assemblies were available online which were a huge help!
